Faculty Load. The faculty load for each individual unit member comprises the total hours per week of his/her assigned load. Where activities or events in such areas as dance, forensics, music, athletics, and the like, by nature of the assignment, extend to periods before or after the academic year, beyond District contractual work load requirements, during normal instructional holiday periods, or other, and these events or activities are voluntarily scheduled by the individual unit member -- such activities or events shall then be regarded as a part of the total assignment and shall not be considered for extra-pay or compensation.
Faculty Load. Faculty teaching load is assigned by the College Xxxx in consultation with program faculty. Faculty teaching load is calculated in terms of load hours. The number of load hours credited for courses is equal to the credit hours assigned to the course. As assigned by the College Xxxx, a course taught using alternative, asynchronous, or other modality shall be inloaded equivalent to the number of credits assigned to the course. Exceptions to this are as follows:

As professional educators, the faculty of North Central State College are committed to providing learner-centered opportunities and institutional support to allow North Central State College students to make the most of their abilities and resources in order to meet their educational, career and life goals. As professional educators, faculty perform a variety of activities in a pattern that differs from day to day, week to week, and term to term. Faculty endeavor to provide opportunities and support for students to learn through their commitment to excellent facilitation of learning; student, institutional and community service; and their own professional development. An academic “hour” is defined as 50 minutes. To meet this commitment the following load is assigned to faculty at North Central State College. The on-campus/off-campus faculty workload is expected to reflect a 40 hour work week that includes the following: • 15 credit or 18 contact hours of direct facilitation of learning • 18 to 21 hours of classroom support* and institutional support** with active faculty participation in each support area. • 4 office hours (in-person or virtual) or a combination of both with the approval of the Xxxx. *Classroom support includes any activities used to facilitate learning in assigned courses, which may include, but is not limited to: • Preparing lectures • Reviewing lectures • Grading • Keeping current on course material through books, journals, and websites • Interacting with students at times other than scheduled office hours in support of learning activities • Preparing labs • Maintaining labs • Preparing assignments • Preparing and administering evaluation tools • Maintaining course syllabi • Maintaining course outlines • Maintaining course objectives • Creating and reviewing course materials used • Participating as a Course Coordinator • All other activities that enable the faculty member to provide learner-centered activities to meet the student outcomes of the course • Complete course and program assessment activities **Institutional Support Activities may include, but are not limited to: Committees: • Serving as the Chair of a committee • Serving as a committee member Meetings: • Attending monthly department meetings • Attending monthly division meetings • Attending advisory committee meetings (if applicable, one per semester) • Attending graduation • Attending two-day Convocation • Attending yearly In-Service • Attending President’s Forum (5th Thurs...
Faculty Load. The full-time teaching load for a faculty member during the academic year shall be considered to consist of fifteen (15) contact hours per week except as provided below:
Faculty Load. All English composition courses requiring recursive writing assignments totaling at least 6000 words shall be 12‐hour based (or .0833 Load/Unit). All Health Occupation Regular/Contract Instructors shall have an 11‐month contract. The payment for the 11th month shall be in June and is for additional work faculty must perform annually in order to be in compliance with legal requirements to maintain licensure with the Board of Registered Nursing and all other state licensing and regulatory agencies; required certifications and mandatory continuing education necessary for clinical content expert status; attendance at clinical worksite in‐services and employee mandated training and competency validations; and the review and selection of nursing program applicants. Health Occupation Regular/Contract Instructors shall submit their work plan for their additional month in accordance with Article 18.9. Faculty Load. 4.2.1 STANDARD FULL-TIME INSTRUCTIONAL WORKLOAD The teaching load for full-time teaching faculty is thirty (30) instructor credit hours per academic year. Instructor credit hours will be defined as the following ratios:
Faculty Load. A. All full-time classroom faculty are required to teach a total of 30 contact hours during the fall and spring semesters combined. No classroom faculty member shall be required to teach more than 18 contact hours in a semester. No faculty member shall be required to teach winter intersession. Counselors and Librarians work 35 hours per week or 70 hours per two weeks during the fall and spring semester.
Faculty Load. If a faculty member is at risk for not fulfilling his/her contract load for a given semester covered by this Amendment One due to low enrollment, the faculty member will be provided with flexible options to fulfill his/her contract obligations without requiring an extra term agreement or application of dynamic banking for the WLU associated with at least one (1) course per tenn. Options may include scheduling new courses within the faculty member's two (2) teaching terms (per the current CBA) and/or arranging release time for approved College projects/initiatives. Per the CBA, full-time faculty will be given preference over adjunct faculty for courses for contract load and overload. Per the CBA, overload will be granted once load is met. If a faculty member chooses to pursue a third term agreement, then that agreement will be paid per the CBA terms regardless of what means were pursued to facilitate the faculty member reaching load status in the previous two (2) semester sequence. Note: any combination of two semesters applies, as is articulated in the current CBA.
Faculty Load. Any exceptions to this article will be reviewed and approved by the faculty member, Academic Area Chair, and Vice-President for Educational Services. These exceptions will be documented in writing as to the reasons, conditions and the time limits, signed by each party, and filed with the Office of Human Resources with copies to all concerned parties. To the extent that the load provision listed here does not accommodate program changes deemed necessary by the administration, the Associate VicePresident of Human Resources and the Vice President for Educational Services will consult with the Faculty Association before implementing the necessary changes.
