External Professional Activities. 13.10.1 A Member may engage in external professional activity. External professional activity represents a contribution to the community which can be made by the Member by virtue of his/her training, advanced study or research, or is of value to maintain or develop his/her academic competence.

External Professional Activities. 12.13.1 The University recognizes that some Members engage in professional activities external to the University. Professional activities such as consulting, or working for other educational institutions, or healthcare organizations, must not conflict with a Member’s responsibilities to the University. Members engaged in external professional activities will, upon request, report the nature and scope of these activities to the Xxxx.
External Professional Activities. 20.1.1 The nature of the professional competence of many Staff Members affords opportunities for the exercise of that competence outside the Staff Member’s duties, on both remunerative and non-remunerative bases. Recognizing that such external professional activities can bring benefits to and enhance the reputation of the University and the capacity of Staff Members, Athabasca University agrees that Staff Members are encouraged to engage in part-time external professional activities, paid or unpaid, including participation in their professional associations, faculty associations, C.A.U.T., and/or learned societies, provided that such activities do not interfere with their obligations, duties, and responsibilities to Athabasca University as defined in this Agreement and subject to the conditions outlined in Section 20.2.

External full-time employment for full-time employees of the University is not considered as external professional activity and is prohibited. External part-time employment or contract work for full time members of the University may qualify as external professional activity. If such employment or contract work is to take place during the normal working hours of the University the activity must have the prior written approval of the appropriate Executive Officer. This process is required to ensure that the Staff Member’s duties and responsibilities are maintained during the period of external activity. Such approval shall not be unreasonably denied.

  • Professional Activities The Superintendent/Principal shall be encouraged to attend appropriate professional meetings at the local, state, and national levels. Within budget constraints, such costs of attendance shall be paid by the Board. The Superintendent/Principal’s attendance at professional meetings at the national level must have prior approval of the Board.

  • Outside Professional Activities The President/Superintendent may undertake outside professional activities, including consulting, speaking, and writing provided these activities do not interfere with the President/Superintendent’s duties.

  • Promotional Activities ‌ 19 At the request of North Sound BH-ASO, Provider shall display promotional materials in its 20 offices and facilities as practical, in accordance with applicable law and cooperate with and 21 participate in all reasonable marketing efforts.
