Exterior mirrors. The Trolley shall be equipped with a corrosion resistant exterior rearview mirror on each side and shall have amber LED turn signals on the forward exterior sides of the mirror housings. The mirrors shall permit the operator to view the roadway along both sides of the Trolley, including the rear wheels. The curbside rearview mirror shall be mounted so that its lower edge is no less than 80.0 inches above the street surface. The operator shall be able to adjust the curbside mirror remotely while seated in the driving position. The control for remote positioning of the mirror shall be a single switch or device. All reflective glass surfaces of the exterior mirrors shall be electrically heated. The mirror heaters shall be energized whenever the operator activates a momentary switch and shall remain on for a timer-controlled period of ten minutes. All heating elements shall function by a single switch and timer. Mirrors shall be firmly attached to prevent vibration and loss of adjustment, but not so firmly attached that the Trolley or its structure is damaged when the mirror is struck in an collision. Mirrors shall retract or fold sufficiently to allow washing operations and easily return to an operational position. Installation of the roadside mirror shall not compound the area blocked by the windshield pillar.
