Extension of Maternity Leave. In instances where an employee ineligible for benefits, pursuant to Clause 17.1, is unable, due to illness or disability, to return to work upon expiration of maternity leave, then, on written request of the employee and with a medical certificate, leave will be extended in such circumstances.
