Extended Work Year. A. When certain professional staff members (e.g. secondary counselors, instructional specialist or secondary librarians, etc.) are requested to perform professional duties before or after the calendar work year, professional staff members shall be paid at the per diem rate. Absent extenuating circumstances, professional staff members shall be notified on or before May 1 if he/she is to report before the beginning of the work year and on or before March 1 if requested to work after the scheduled work year.
