Extended Sick Leave With Difference Pay. When a unit member has exhausted all available sick leave, including the leave described in Sections 16.1.1.1, 16.1.1.2, and 16.4 (Catastrophic Leave), and continues to be absent on account of illness or accident for an additional period of five school months, whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of the unit member’s employment, the amount deducted from the salary due that unit member shall not exceed the sum that is actually paid a regular substitute employed to fill the absent unit member’s position or, if no substitute was employed, the amount that would have been paid to a regular substitute if one had been employed. The sick leave described in Sections 16.1.1.1 and 16.1.1.2 and the five-month period described in Section 16.1.1.3 shall run consecutively. A unit member shall not be provided more than one five- month period per illness or accident. If a school year terminates before the five-month period is exhausted, however, the unit member may take the balance of the five-month period in a subsequent school year.

Extended Sick Leave With Difference Pay. When a unit member has exhausted all available sick leave, including the leave described in Sections 1.1 and 1.2, and continues to be absent on account of illness or accident for an additional period of up to 100 days, whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of the employment of the unit member, the amount deducted from the salary due the unit member shall not exceed the sum that is actually paid a regular substitute employed to fill the absent unit member’s position or, if no substitute was employed, the amount that would have been paid to a regular substitute if one had been employed. In no event shall the amount deducted from a unit member’s salary pursuant to this section exceed fifty percent (50%) of the unit member’s regular salary for the period of absence, or the rate of pay for one full time regular long-term substitute employed for the period of absence. The sick leave described in Sections 1.1 and 1.2, and the 100- day period described in this section shall run consecutively. A unit member shall not be provided more than one 100-day extended sick leave period per illness or accident. If a school year terminates before the 100-day period is exhausted, however, the unit member may take the balance of the 100-day period in a subsequent school year.
Extended Sick Leave With Difference Pay. Consistent with Education Code section 45196, when a unit member has exhausted all available paid sick leave, described in this Agreement and continues to be absent on account of illness or accident for an additional period of five school months whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of the employment of the unit member, the amount deducted from the salary due the unit member shall not exceed the sum that is actually paid a regular substitute employed to fill the absent unit member's position. If another unit member is assigned to work out of class to replace the absent unit member, the amount deducted from the salary of the absent unit member shall be the amount actually paid the substitute employed to replace the unit member working out of classification. If no substitute is employed to perform the unit member's duties the unit member shall be paid full pay. The paid sick leave described in this Agreement and the five-month period described in this Section shall run concurrently. Unless a unit member submits a written request to the District prior to being placed on Extended Sick Leave with Difference Pay, a unit member must exhaust vacation pay prior to going on Extended Sick Leave with Difference Pay. Unit members on industrial illness or accident leave must exhaust all vacation, compensatory time and other paid leaves before being on Extended Sick Leave with Difference Pay.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Parental Leave Allowance (a) An employee who qualifies for parental leave pursuant to Clause 26.02, shall be paid a parental leave allowance in accordance with the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) Plan. In order to receive this allowance, the employee must provide to the Employer proof of application and eligibility to receive employment insurance benefits pursuant to the Employment Insurance Act. An employee disentitled or disqualified from receiving employment insurance benefits is not eligible for parental leave allowance.

  • SICK LEAVE WITH PAY LIMITATION 175. An employee who is absent because of disability leave and who is receiving disability indemnity payments may request that the amount of disability indemnity payment be supplemented with salary to be charged against the employee's sick leave with pay credits so as to equal the amount the employee would have earned for a regular work schedule. If the employee wishes to exercise this option, the employee must submit a signed statement to the employee's department no later than thirty (30) days following the employee's release from disability leave.

  • Annual Leave Loading (a) In addition to their ordinary pay, an employee, other than a shiftworker, will be paid an annual leave loading of 17.5% of their ordinary pay on a maximum of 152 hours/four weeks annual leave per annum.

  • Extended Leaves Extended leaves of absence of at least three (3) but not more than five (5) years may be granted in accordance with Minnesota Statutes § 136F.43. Notwithstanding any other section of this Agreement, retention and accrual of all rights and benefits for faculty on extended leave shall be governed by Minnesota Statutes § 136F.43. Faculty members shall be returned to the unit in accordance with Article 29, Section B, Subd. 1, and shall be returned to the salary schedule at the step at which they were placed when they left the unit, with accommodation for general increases in the indicated step. If the faculty member’s service to the university in the year the faculty member left the unit qualified for an increase in the succeeding year, then the faculty member shall be entitled to that increase upon return to the unit. Seniority shall not accrue during the years faculty members are on extended leave.

  • Utilization of Sick Leave with Pay Temporary employees who have earned sick leave credits in their temporary appointment shall be eligible for sick leave for any period of absence from employment due to any of the following reasons: • illness; • bodily injury; • disability resulting from pregnancy; • necessity for medical or dental care; • if the employee is a victim of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault, or stalking; or the parent or guardian of a minor child or dependent who is a victim of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault or stalking, pursuant to ORS 659A.270 through 659A.290; • attendance at an employee assistance program; • exposure to contagious disease; • for the emergency repair of personal assistive devices which are medically necessary for the employee to perform assigned duties; • attendance upon members of the employee’s or the employee’s spouse’s immediate family, or the equivalent of each for domestic partners, (parent, wife, husband, children, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, or another member of the immediate household) where the employee’s presence is required because of illness or death; • parental leave. The employee has the duty to insure that they make other arrangements, within a reasonable period of time, for the attendance upon children or other persons in the employee’s care. Certification of an attending physician or practitioner may be required by the Agency to support the employee’s claim for sick leave if the employee is absent in excess of seven (7) days, or if the Agency has evidence that the employee is abusing sick leave privileges. The Agency may also require such certificate from an employee to determine whether the employee should be allowed to return to work where the Agency has reason to believe that the employee’s return to work would be a health hazard to either the employee or to others. (See Section 4 for FMLA and OFLA.)

  • Extended Illness Leave 1. Extended Illness Leave, hereinafter referred to as “EIL” shall be established for Administrative Support Group, XXXX, Clerical, and Educational Assistant personnel who are absent due to their own personal illness or injury following the exhaustion of their accumulated illness, vacation and annual allotment of short term leave. Eligibility for Extended Illness Leave includes completion of employee’s probationary period.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Extended Leave Extended leaves of absence of at least three (3) but not more than five (5) years may be granted in accordance with Minnesota law. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, retention and accrual of all rights and benefits for ASF Members on extended leave shall be governed by Minnesota Statute Section 136F.43.
