Extended Sick Leave Bank. Full and part-time employees shall accrue up 8 to a maximum of twenty-eight (28) hours of extended sick leave per year based on an 9 accrual rate of .01346 per hour worked by such full and part-time employees. Extended 10 sick leave is accrued on the first eighty (80) hours of work time per pay period 11 (excluding extended sick leave, education leave, funeral/bereavement leave, standby, 12 and short and long term disability).

Extended Sick Leave Bank. AHP's who are members of the LAAHP may elect to participate in the LEA Sick Bank. Prior to September 15th of each school year in which the agreement is in effect, all members of the negotiating unit may elect to donate one sick leave day from her annual fifteen-day sick leave entitlement. The bank of extended sick leave days may be used by members who so donate under the following conditions:

Extended Sick Leave Bank. 16.4 The Employer shall grant full salary to any employee who through no fault ofthe employee and as a result of a work related condition is absent from work provided a doctor's certificate completed by a doctor who has actually seen he employee is filed with the County Risk Manager stating the period of time that the employee is not able to return to work during the thirty (30) day period. The County Board may continue to grant such salary to an employee beyond the thirty (30) day period upon further evidence from a doctor stating that such employee is still unable to return to work as a result of his/her work related condition. This is a condition that is not covered by worker's compensation. In no case may an employee be eligible for salary benefit under both 16.2 and 16.4.

Extended Sick Leave Bank. 1. Effective January 1, 2015, a one-time transfer of all unused sick leave exceeding two hundred forty (240) hours will be placed in an Extended Sick Leave (ESL) Bank.
Extended Sick Leave Bank. Unused Sick Leave balances accrued by employees hired before 1/1/04 who choose to convert to the Paid Leave benefit plan will be placed in their Extended Sick Leave Bank. Hours in the Extended Sick Leave Bank may be used by an employee for the following: • Personal illness or disability • Medical, optical, or dental appointments with prior approval of Department Head • Prenatal and postnatal care • Treatment for mental illness, alcoholism, or drug addiction • Isolation to minimize threat or spread of contagious disease • For such reasonable periods as the employee’s attendance with his/her child is necessary on the same terms that the employee him/herself is able to use sick leave benefits • For the illness of spouse or parents as is necessary, at the rate of three (3) days per occurrence To access their Extended Sick Leave Bank, employees shall be required to file with their supervisor competent written evidence of the medical need for their absence. Any unused Extended Sick Leave Bank hours remaining when an employee separates from employment shall be forfeited.
Extended Sick Leave Bank. Employees hired before December 31, 2001 may have accrued unused regular or deferred sick leave hours placed in an Extended Sick Leave Bank as of January 1, 2002. This account may be used for future illness or disability under the guidelines in use 12/31/01 for the use of sick leave. Absence due to illness, disability or injury may be taken from the ESLB or from the PTO Plan, at the employee’s choice, however, the supervisor may require acceptable medical verification that the absence qualified under the sick leave requirements before approving use of ESLB time. Upon termination of employment, employees are entitled to payment of 25% of their unused Extended Sick Leave Bank up to a maximum of 200 hours paid at the wage rate in effect at termination.
