Common use of Extended Personal Leave Clause in Contracts

Extended Personal Leave. Any teacher, with three (3) or more years of continuous service to the district, may make application for a leave of absence for a period of one (1) year, which, if granted, may upon request be extended for a second year. The Board may grant such leave without pay and with no loss in accrued benefits. Upon return the teacher shall be assigned to a position for which the teacher is qualified. The three or more years of continuous service provision applies only to leaves granted under this paragraph.
