Extended Personal Leave of Absence. A. Any teacher employed by the Board for a minimum of ten (10) years may take a leave of absence for one (1) year. Such leave shall require the approval of the Board.

Extended Personal Leave of Absence. 12.10.1 Any tenured teacher shall be entitled to apply for and receive an extended personal leave of absence, without District pay, from his/her regular assignment for any of the following reasons:
Extended Personal Leave of Absence. A bargaining unit member may be granted a leave of absence for personal reasons, The governing board shall hear all requests. This will not constitute a break in continuity of service for purposes of tenure. Upon return to duty, the unit member shall be placed upon the step of the salary schedule for which he/she was eligible when the leave was granted.
Extended Personal Leave of Absence. (a) A request by an employee for an extended personal leave of absence without pay and for good reason will receive full consideration by the Company, providing the employee has completed ninety (90) days full-time service. The period of leave is not to exceed three (3) months. Application for such leave shall be made in writing at least four (4) weeks prior to the date the leave is desired to commence. Copies of said application shall be given to the appropriate Manager and Human Resources. All requests shall be dealt with on an individual basis and will be subject to operational requirements. If the request is denied, the employee and the Union shall be so advised in writing as to the reasons for the denial. An employee may be granted a maximum of one (1) extended personal leave of absence per calendar year. The Company agrees it will act reasonably in this matter.

  • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists. By mutual agreement between the employer and the employees, he/she may be given a different assignment. Extended leaves of absence may be requested under, but not limited to, the following:

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
