Common use of Extended Illness Clause in Contracts

Extended Illness. Any tenured teacher whose personal illness extends beyond the period compensated will be granted a leave-of-absence without pay or increment for such time as is necessary for complete recovery to a maximum of one year. Further extensions may be granted at the will of the Board. Upon return from leave, a teacher may be assigned to the same or similar position, providing a vacancy exists.
