Extended Day Programs. Teachers teaching a classroom of students within a classroom setting in a district- approved curriculum at an extended day program (e.g., afterschool) or an extended year program (e.g., regular education summer school) established by the District on or after September 1, 1998 will be paid at the B+O rate of the salary schedule for hours worked. The Fairbanks Youth Facility educational program, the cooperative education summer program, and the special education summer program were established before 1998. Selection of teachers for extended day/year programs will be made exclusively by the District; however, the District will give first consideration to qualified teachers who submit a letter of interest. The District will pay TRS benefits for all hours worked by bargaining unit members when performing duties under special project contracts.

Differences in stipends reflect variations in the contractual end of the regular school day for each Extended Day Program as per the current Agreement between the Association and the Committee. Extended Day Programs are intended to remediate specific academic or study skills. Groups of students shall be organized, as much as possible, in grade level and/or academic subject specific groups. Remedial academic class sizes will range from 10 to 16 students with a preferred enrollment of 10. Classes for the reinforcement of study skills or for directed homework may range up to twenty (20) students. Individual student progress will be reported to the parents and regular classroom teacher at the conclusion of the session.
Extended Day Programs. Teachers on extended-day programs, including eight- hour-day positions and regularly scheduled classes authorized on an overtime basis (but not including classes established after regular school hours to supplement the regular program, such as after-school classes in reading and arithmetic, driver training programs, evening school programs and social center programs), will be entitled to extended-day pay when absent if entitled to sick pay for the normal school day under the provisions of Board Rule 4-11.

Our camp offers Montessori classes, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and field trips. Lunches are not included in tuition. Parents should provide a nutritious lunch for their child each day. It is also the parent’s responsibility to make certain that these lunches meet the USDA guidelines for nutritional needs.

Third party operators must meet requirements under relevant legislation (Day Nurseries Act) and must be a not for profit corporation or municipality. Operators must be eligible to receive fee subsidy payments

  • Overtime-Eligible Unpaid Meal Periods ‌ The Employer and the Union agree to unpaid meal periods that vary from and supersede the unpaid meal period requirements of WAC 000-000-000. Unpaid meal periods for employees working more than five (5) consecutive hours, if entitled, will be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes and will be scheduled as close to the middle of the work shift as possible. Employees working three (3) or more hours longer than a normal workday will be allowed an additional thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period. When an employee’s unpaid meal period is interrupted by work duties, the employee will be allowed to resume their unpaid meal period following the interruption, if possible, to complete the unpaid meal period. In the event an employee is unable to complete the unpaid meal period due to operational necessity, the employee will be entitled to compensation, which will be computed based on the actual number of minutes worked within the unpaid meal period. Meal periods may not be used for late arrival or early departure from work and meal and rest periods will not be combined.
