Expert Witness. Any unit member accepting appointment as an expert 16 witness in any court or administrative agency hearing where the unit member has volunteered 17 his/her services for the purpose of testifying as an expert witness, shall be allowed to retain 18 his/her expert witness fees. The unit member, however, shall not be allowed to charge any day 19 of absence to this leave provision. Instead, the unit member shall be required to take an unpaid 20 leave of absence.
