Experience Differential. A new employee may be placed on Schedule A above the hire rate if they have verifiable experience as a registered practical nurse in Public Health. Individuals with this type of experience shall be placed in accordance with the following scale: • At least two (2) years’ experience, but less than four (4) years’ at Step 1. • With four (4) or more years’ experience at Step 2. Additionally, a new employee may be placed on Schedule A at Step 1 if they have verifiable experience as a registered professional nurse of at least four (4) years or more in an area other than public health. No current employee will be negatively impacted by this language. Six (6) months of the individual’s experience must have been within the preceding twenty-four (24) months.
Experience Differential. Regular Full-time Staff LPNs with at least five (5) full years of comparable and continuous full-time LPN experience (internal and external) shall receive an additional one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per year.

Experience before and after employment with the Employer shall be considered consecutive and combined unless there has been more than a one (1) year break in experience for which credit is given under this Section 6.5, provided that a "break in experience" will not be deemed to occur during a period when the Registered Nurse has continuous Per Diem Staff Nurse experience averaging at least one (1) day per week but, as stated above, such Per Diem experience is not credited for benefits hereunder. Effective for Years of Experience after January 1, 2001, Per Diem Employees who become Staff Nurses will receive credit under Article 6.5 on both experience schedules for Years of Experience as a VNS Per Diem CoC after January 1, 2001. Such Per Diem Employees must agree in advance on a form provided by the Employer to participate in the same weekend work schedule required of Staff Nurses in their Region/Program, and they must fulfill their agreement.
Experience Differential. Effective January 1, 1994, regular full-time employees shall be paid additional compensation (Experience Differential), as applicable, based upon a combination of continuous Registered Professional Nurse experience with the Hospital Center (internal experience) and verifiable experience comparable to that of an employee in the Hospital Center's employ, as determined by the Assistant Vice President for Nursing, within twelve (12) years of employment by the Hospital Center (external experience) as set forth in the following table. Up to twelve (12) years of verifiable outside experience shall be credited for placement on the experience schedule. In cases where prior experience was earned as a part-time, per diem and/or agency nurse, credit shall be granted at a rate in the amount of one (1) year of experience after completion of each unit of one thousand six hundred and thirty-five (1,635) hours of time worked. RN experience that meets the above criteria is counted regardless of the employee’s title or specialty. The Hospital Center may require proof of experience as a condition of payment under this paragraph.   • Shift Differential The shift differential for employees working on assigned shifts which begin before 6:00 A.M. or which end at or after 7:00 P.M. shall be sixty-five cents ($0.65) per hour for all hours worked on that shift. Such shift differential shall be in addition to the employee's regular rate of pay and shall be included in all payroll calculations, but shall not apply during periods of paid leave. Employees working the regular day schedule who are required to work overtime or who are called back to work for special projects shall not be eligible for the shift differential.

  • Shift Differentials A shift differential of thirty-five cents ($.35) per hour shall be paid for shifts starting between 2:00 p.m. and 9:59 p.m. for employees regularly assigned to such shifts. A shift differential of forty-five cents ($.45) per hour shall be paid for shifts starting between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. for employees regularly assigned to such shifts. The differential provided herein shall be part of base pay for overtime pay and other purposes. Employees at the Maine State Prison who are regularly assigned to the 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. shift are to be paid a shift differential of forty-five cents ($.45) per hour. Employees of mental health and correctional facilities shall be eligible for the second shift differential when their shift begins between 12:00 noon and 4:59 p.m.

  • Bilingual Differential When formally assigned in the employee’s position description, an employee assigned to interpret to or from another language to English will receive a differential of five percent (5%) of base pay.

  • Night Shift Differential 1. An employee who works an assigned night shift shall, in addition to his or her regular salary, be paid a night shift differential for each hour actually worked on the assigned night shift.

  • Night Differential Employees whose weekly work schedules consist of regularly scheduled night tours shall receive a night differential of ten percent (10%) of their Adjusted Rate. Employees who work fewer than five (5) night tours in a calendar week shall be paid a differential equal to one-fifth (1/5) of the night differential for each scheduled tour so worked.

  • Preceptor Differential The Hospital shall pay a differential of $1.50 per hour to a nurse who is designated by nursing management to serve as a preceptor to provide on-the-job training to newly hired nurses. One differential will be paid per shift per orientee to the primary preceptor for all hours served as the primary preceptor for that shift. Preceptor will only be paid while the newly hired nurse is in a one-to-one status. Preceptor is a voluntary assignment and the nurse has the option to refuse the preceptor assignment.

  • Shift Differential Pay A. An employee shall receive additional compensation at the rate of seventy five cents (75¢) per hour for all hours worked on a shift when the majority of hours worked on the shift are between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. and in locations where these classes are regularly assigned shift work.

  • Leadwork Differential (a) Leadwork differential shall be defined as a differential for employees who have been formally assigned by their supervisor in writing, “leadwork” duties for ten (10) consecutive calendar days (or the equivalent thereof for alternate or flexible schedules) or longer provided the leadwork or team leader duties are not included in the classification specification for the employee’s position. Leadwork is where, on a recurring daily basis, the employee has been directed to perform substantially all of the following functions: to orient new employees, if appropriate; assign and reassign tasks to accomplish prescribed work efficiently; give direction to workers concerning work procedures; transmit established standards of performance to workers; review work of employees for conformance to standards; and provide informal assessment of workers’ performance to the supervisor.

  • Bilingual Differential Pay Bilingual Differential Pay applies to those positions designated by the Department of Personnel Administration as eligible to receive bilingual pay according to the following standards:

  • Weekend Differential Employees assigned to State institutions other than Maine State Prison shall be eligible for a weekend differential of fifty cents ($.50) per hour to the base for shifts beginning between 10:00 p.m. Friday and 9:59 p.m.
