Equipment and Clothing. A. The Employer shall not require bargaining unit members to furnish their own tools or work implements in order to perform State work.
Equipment and Clothing. A seventy dollar ($70) annual allowance will be paid to employee required by the appointing authority to wear safety shoes during the course of their employment. Such payment will be made on or about October 1 of each contract year. An otherwise eligible employee hired on or after October 1, but before April 1 of any contract year shall also receive this allowance. Such payment will be made on or about April 1. Employees hired on or after April 1 shall not be eligible for such payment for that contract year. Effective July 1, 2006 the annual allowance for safety shoes shall be increased to eighty-five dollars ($85). Effective July 1, 2007 it shall be increased to ninety-five dollars ($95) and effective July 1, 2008 the safety shoe allowance shall be one hundred ten dollars ($110). The State will continue to furnish the employee with other equipment or clothing now being supplied as long as the need for such equipment and clothing exists.

Employees working in areas where there is a danger of head injury from impact or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and xxxxx, shall be required to wear protective helmets. Only those protective helmets approved by the Director of Safety shall be worn by an employee. Protective helmets shall be provided by the District.

Equipment and Clothing. 17.1 It is to the mutual advantage of both the Employer and the Employee that Employees shall not use vehicles, tools and equipment which are not in a safe operating condition and not equipped with the safety appliances required by applicable Government Regulations.

Equipment and Clothing. The Company will continue to maintain its practice of providing safety equipment and clothing required beyond normal occupational dress and equipment and excluding safety shoes, which shall be provided by the employees. For footwear purchased beyond the successful completion of the employee’s probationary period, the Company will upon proof of purchase (written receipt) grant an allowance of up to $170 (plus taxes) towards the purchase of metatarsal guarded safety footwear. Wearing of provided and/or required safety equipment will be rigidly enforced and made a condition of employment.
