Equalities Impact Assessment Sample Clauses

Equalities Impact Assessment. The Secretary of State has an Equality duty under s.149 of the Equality Act 2010 to consider the impact of any changes in relation to the protected characteristics. A comprehensive equalities impact assessment on the proposed amendments to the contract is being carried out in line with the Secretary of State’s public sector Equality Duty, and the DHSC will publish this analysis. In line with best practice the department has engaged with the BMA and NHS Employers as key stakeholder in this process, who are content with the approach taken and methods used. In light of how seriously the BMA takes equality and diversity, they will commission an independent review of the draft equalities impact assessment as part of this stakeholder engagement, to ensure that it addresses members’ equalities concerns and to analyse the outcome for members. Equalities Impact Assessment. Local Area Agreement Annex 8 Department Section Person(s) responsible for the assessment Policy & Communications Policy Unit Xxxxx Xxxxx Service delivery area Title of policy, procedure or process Current (section 2.1) New (section 2.2) Tick appropriate box Cross-cutting & cross partner Local Area Agreement (LAA) New Brief description of the aims, objectives and purpose of the policy, procedure or Process: LAAs are a new initiative that bring key local partners (Westminster City Council, Westminster Primary Care Trust, the Metropolitan Police Service, the local Voluntary and Community Sector etc.) together to pool funding streams and jointly deliver improved local services with a greater focus on local needs and priorities (as opposed to national targets). They are an agreement between a local area (i.e. a Local Strategic Partnership, in our case the Westminster City Partnership (WCP)) and central government and act as the delivery plan for the community strategy (the Westminster City Plan). They involve: ▪ Automatic and negotiated freedoms and flexibilities ▪ A reduction of monitoring and reporting around pooled funding streams ▪ Access to up to £8M in pump priming and reward grant for agreed performance on specific stretch targets ▪ Joint delivery of services across partners where appropriate ▪ Introduction of a new LAA Performance Management Framework (PMF) that replaces and subsumes the WCP’s PMF LAAs are usually developed around four thematic blocks: ▪ Children & Young People; ▪ Healthier Communities and Older People ▪ Safer & Stronger Communities ▪ Economic Development. However Westminster has a “Single Pot” LAA which allows greater flexibility on the structure of our LAA. Westminster’s LAA is built around four themes: ▪ Visible improvement on the street ▪ Community cohesion and engaged citizenship ▪ Customer tailored services ▪ Better life chances for all citizens As part of the agreement we have, with partners, developed an ‘outcomes framework’ – featuring key headline and detailed outcomes – that we will deliver on. We have also developed an LAA PMF which will be used by Government to monitor and measure our performance.
