Environmental Impact. The National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) (Public Law 91-190) establishes national policy goals and procedures to protect and enhance the environment. NEPA applies to all federal agencies and requires them to consider the probable environmental consequences of any major federal activity, including activities of other organizations operating with the concurrence or support of a federal agency.
