Entitlement to Sabbatical Leave. Any Professional Staff Member who has completed five (5) consecutive years as a member of the professional staff of the Dayton City School District may be granted a leave of absence with pay for professional improvement for one (1) full semester or two (2) full semesters, but not longer than one (1) school year; provided however such pay will be a partial annual salary and will not be in excess of the difference between the reserve's pay and the Professional Staff Member's salary in accordance with 3319.131 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Entitlement to Sabbatical Leave. Sabbatical leave may be granted at the discretion of the employer. Sabbatical leave shall not be unreasonably denied. In the case where an application is denied, if requested by the applicant, the employer will provide written reasons for the denial.
