Enrollment Policy. The School shall make student recruitment, admissions, enrollment and retention decisions in a nondiscriminatory manner and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, sex, marital status, religion, ancestry, disability or need for special education services. In no event may the School limit admission based on race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, gender, income level, athletic ability, or proficiency in the English language. If there are more applications to enroll in the charter school than there are spaces available, the charter school shall select students to attend using a random selection process that shall be publicly noticed and open to the public.

Charter schools may not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age, ancestry, athletic performance, special need, proficiency in the English language or in a foreign language, or academic achievement in admitting students, nor may charter schools set admissions criteria that are intended to discriminate or that have the effect of discriminating on any of these bases. Enrollment of Students with Disabilities It is expected that charters schools will enroll students with disabilities in compliance with all applicable law. EBRPSB will monitor all schools for compliance with the law to ensure equal access for ALL students. In admitting students in compliance with applicable law, it is anticipated that a charter school will use reasonable efforts to enroll a percentage of students that is reflective of the number of students with disabilities being served in public schools within the parish in which the Charter School is located. This is not a quota or cap on the enrollment of students with disabilities. All students must be admitted in compliance with applicable law. The percentage of students eligible for special education services who are admitted to the Charter School will be reviewed annually based on the percentage of students identified as receiving special education services in schools within the parish in which the Charter School is located.
