EMT Certification. The County agrees to provide Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training to employees in specified classifications in the Patrol Officer's Unit if the County determines that EMT certification is necessary for the employee(s) in that classification(s) to perform his assigned duties. Nothing in this Section should be construed to mean that the County is obligated to require such certification, and the County retains the right to determine the procedures under which such training, if required, will be conducted. In addition, any benefits which may be granted under this Section are limited to only those employees employed in classifications in the Patrol Officer's Unit at the time of the County's determination, if any, that such training is required.

EMT Certification. All employees hired on or after January 1, 1986, who are required to have a Firefighter certificate, shall be required to maintain State of Florida EMT certification in accordance with State of Florida requirements.
EMT Certification. The City and the Union recognize the need to have highly trained employees to operate the City’s rescue equipment and to respond to medical emergencies. To this end, the City and the Union agree as follows: Emergency Medical Technician-B (EMT-B) certification shall be the mandatory minimum level of certification required for all positions in the bargaining unit.

EMT Certification. Emergency Medical Technician (“EMT”) certification is a mandatory condition of employment for Battalion Chiefs. The Department will provide all necessary training and testing relating to the recertification process at no cost to employees. If an employee does not successfully complete the EMT re-certification process provided by the Department, the employee will have six (6) months to meet recertification requirements or be subject to termination for failure to meet position standards. The expenses, in such cases, will be the responsibility of the employee. The six (6) month grace period, if requested, may be extended due to course availability but, employees must enroll and participate in the first available course.
EMT Certification. The parties stipulate that the Township's current policy is that any police officer with EMT certification will not be assigned to an ambulance or other emergency medical vehicle (other than a police car) to perform EMT duty. (However, a police officer can be assigned to perform police duty on such vehicles.) If that policy changes in the future to require police officers with EMT certification to be assigned to an ambulance or other emergency medical vehicle (other than a police car) to perform EMT duty, the Township agrees to add $500 to the annual base pay of all Police Officers with EMT certification.
