Employment Relations Education Leave 26.1 The Employer shall grant leave on pay for employees party to this MECA to attend courses authorised by NZNO to facilitate the employee’s education and training as employee representatives in the workplace. Supplemental Employment Benefit for Maternity and Parental Leave 8.5.1 Effective April 1, 2002, when on maternity or parental leave, an employee will receive a supplemental payment added to Employment Insurance benefits as follows:
EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE I understand that the College has not made and will not make any guarantees of employment or salary upon my graduation. The College will provide me with placement assistance, which will consist of identifying employment opportunities and advising me on appropriate means of attempting to realize these opportunities. I authorize HCI College’s representatives to contact potential employers for the purpose of advocating on my behalf and release my name and job application materials, including, but not limited to, my cover letter, resume, and transcript to prospective employers. I authorize HCI College and its third-party vendors to contact my employer to verify pertinent employment information for my graduate record. Initial
Reasonable Accommodation for Applicants / Employees with Disabilities The contractor must be familiar with the requirements for and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and all rules and regulations established there under. Employers must provide reasonable accommodation in all employment activities unless to do so would cause an undue hardship.
Employment of Personnel Manager shall use its diligent efforts to investigate, hire, pay, supervise and discharge the personnel necessary to be employed by it to properly maintain, operate and lease the Property, including without limitation a property manager or business manager at the Property. Such personnel shall in every instance be deemed agents or employees, as the case may be, of Manager. Owner has no right of supervision or direction of agents or employees of Manager whatsoever; however, Owner shall have the right to require the reassignment or termination of any employee. All Owner directives shall be communicated to Manager’s senior level management employees. Manager and all personnel of Manager who handle or who are responsible for handling Owner’s monies shall be bonded in favor of Owner. Manager agrees to obtain and keep in effect fidelity insurance in an amount not less than Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000). All reasonable salaries, wages and other compensation of personnel employed by Manager, including so-called fringe benefits, worker’s compensation, medical and health insurance and the like, shall be deemed to be reimbursable expenses of Manager. Manager may allow its employees who work at the Property and provide services to the Property after normal business hours, to reside at the Property for reduced rents (or rent fee as provided in the Operating Budget) in consideration of their benefit to Owner and the Property, provided such reduced rents are reflected in the Annual Business Plan.
Training Leave An employee appointed or elected as an accredited representative of the union shall, upon application in writing to the employer, be granted up to 5 days leave with pay each calendar year (non-cumulative) to attend appropriate courses: • Such courses shall be designed and structured with the objective of promoting good industrial relations within the building and construction industry. • Consultation may take place between the parties in the furtherance of this objective Accredited representative of the union shall mean a job xxxxxxx recognised by the employer. The application shall contain the following details: • The name of the employee seeking leave • The period of time for which the leave is sought (including dates and daily commencing and finishing times) and • The title, general description and structure of the course to be attended and the location of where the course is to be conducted. The employer shall advise the union within seven clear working days (Monday to Friday) of receiving the application as to whether or not the application for leave has been approved. The time of taking leave shall be arranged so as to minimise any adverse effect on the employer’s operations. The onus shall rest with the employer to demonstrate an inability to grant leave when an eligible employee is otherwise entitled. An employer shall not be liable for any additional expenses associated with an employee’s attendance at a course, other than the payment of ordinary time earnings for such absence. For the purposes of this clause ordinary time earnings shall be defined as the relevant award classification rate, shift work loadings plus over-award payments. Leave rights granted in accordance with this clause will not result in additional payment for alternative time off to the extent that the course coincides with an employee’s day off in the 19 day month work cycle. An employee on request by their employer shall provide proof of their attendance at any course within 7 days. If an employee fails to provide such proof the employer may deduct any amount already paid for attendance from the week’s pay or any monies due to the employee. Where an employee is sick during a period when leave under this provision has been granted proof of attendance at the course is not required for that period and the employee shall receive payment in accordance with personal leave provisions. Leave of absence granted in accordance with this clause shall count for all purposes of employment.
CALIFORNIA FAIR EMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING ACT CERTIFICATION Pursuant to Public Contract Code (PCC) section 2010, the following certifications must be provided when (i) submitting a bid or proposal to the JBE for a solicitation of goods or services of $100,000 or more, or (ii) entering into or renewing a contract with the JBE for the purchase of goods or services of $100,000 or more. CULTURAL LEAVE FOR ABORIGINAL EMPLOYEES The Superintendent of Schools or their designate, may grant five (5) paid days per year leave with seven (7) days written notice from the employee to participate in Aboriginal Cultural event(s). Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.
Industrial Relations Training Leave 53.1 Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.
Supported Employment Supported employment is provided to an individual who has paid, individualized, competitive employment in the community (i.e., a setting that includes non- disabled workers) to help the individual sustain that employment. It includes individualized support services consistent with the individual’s plan of services and supports as well as supervision, self-employment, and training. Optional*† E. Behavioral Support: Specialized interventions by professionals with required credentials to assist an individual to increase adaptive behaviors and to replace or modify maladaptive behavior that prevent or interfere with the individual’s inclusion in home and family life or community life. Support includes: ▪ assessing and analyzing assessment findings so that an appropriate behavior support plan may be designed; ▪ developing an individualized behavior support plan consistent with the outcomes identified in the individual’s plan of services and supports; ▪ training and consulting with family members or other providers and, as appropriate, the individual; ▪ and monitoring and evaluating the success of the behavioral support plan and modifying the plan as necessary.
