Employee Workday. 1. For the 180 student-contact days, the employee workday shall be seven and one- third hours, including lunch time on campus. If reports or other assignments are given to teachers, the scope shall be that they can reasonably be completed during the workday. All other workdays shall consist of seven hours on campus. Whenever the Employer determines the need to alter the starting and ending times of the school day to accommodate transportation requirements or other contingencies, the reporting times for employees shall be adjusted accordingly. Under normal circumstances, high school teachers will not be required to report more than ten (10) minutes before or remain more than twenty-five (25) minutes after the school day, nor shall the workday as defined in the Agreement be lengthened as a result of such alteration. Under normal circumstances, middle school teachers will report twenty-five (25) minutes before the school day, and remain ten (10) minutes after the school day.

Employee Workday. A. Workday: The employee workday shall consist of a maximum eight (8) hours including one half (1/2) hour before school begins. The employee workday shall begin at 7:30 and end at 3:00. On those days when professional responsibilities (IEP meetings or parent correspondence) necessitate more time, the employee may be asked to stay until 3:30. The staff shall receive a minimum of a continuous ten (10) minute duty-free break/recess. All employees will receive a minimum thirty (30) minute duty-free lunch period. Employee Workday. A. The normal employee workday shall be 7 hours and 30 minutes. The teacher workday must begin 20 minutes before student contact time and end 10 minutes after dismissal. The first week of school, all teachers are required to be on morning duty. During the week an employee is assigned morning duty, the teacher workday must begin 20 minutes before student contact time and end 10 minutes after dismissal. Teachers shall not be assigned duty more than one week per four school weeks for the exception of the first week of school.

Employee Workday. A. Employees shall be in their building one-half hour prior to the start of the student day and shall remain one-half hour after the end of the student day. The length of the assigned work day shall be substantially the same for all teachers and will consist of seven and one-half (7 ½) consecutive hours including thirty (30) continuous minutes duty free lunch.
Employee Workday. A custodial / maintenance employee’s workweek shall be considered to be Monday through Friday. A custodial / maintenance employee’s workday shall be a consecutive 8-hour day exclusive of one 15-minute break for each 4-hour shift and a 30-minute duty free lunch period. A lunch period may be interrupted by a building emergency requiring the employee’s immediate attention. With approval of the Facilities Director, on days when there is an early dismissal of students, night custodians shall have the option to begin their shift early. A utility employee’s workweek shall be considered to be five days per week from Monday to Saturday. A utility employee’s workday shall be a consecutive 8-hour day exclusive of one 15- minute break for each 4-hour shift and a 30-minute duty free lunch period. The utility employee shall not work beyond his eight hour shift unless all custodial and maintenance employees within the building (asked first) or the district-wide seniority list (asked second) are unavailable to work. The only exception is that a utility employee can receive up to ½ hour of overtime to finish preparing a sports field for a game event. A lunch period may be interrupted by a building emergency requiring the employee’s immediate attention. Since utility workers schedules will generally be required to be more variable than custodial / maintenance employees, efforts will be made to provide utility employee’s with weekly schedules, to provide at least 8 hours off between shifts and to provide 48 hours notice of any shift changes. Weekend events sponsored by organizations other than the Triad School District, and that require a bargaining unit member to be on site, shall be assigned first to custodial and /or maintenance employees. If no custodial or maintenance employees choose to work the event, then a utility worker may be assigned. If such an event occurs at the same time as a Triad School District event, both custodial or maintenance employees and a utility worker may be assigned to accommodate the two events. If only one employee is to be assigned, the person assigned to the building check for that weekend will have first option to work the event. If any employee is compensated for more than forty hours in a week, all hours in excess of forty shall be paid at a rate equal to one and one-half times the employee’s regular hourly rate.. All work performed by custodial/maintenance employees on Saturday and Sunday will be paid at a rate equal to one and one half ...

The length of the duty-free lunch period shall be no less than: Kindergarten through twelfth grade - 30 minutes. With the exception of parent-teacher conferences, any work performed outside the workday or work year that is not expressly set forth in this Agreement shall be voluntary. Parent-teacher conferences may extend the hours worked in a regular workday; however, the teachers will be given corresponding release time as scheduled in accordance with section C.4. below. No teacher shall be expected to start on elementary time and end on secondary time (or vice versa) or work a schedule that extends the workday unless the teacher requests that schedule, without additional pay.
