Employee Self-Funded Leave a) The Employee Self-Funded Leave Plan permits employees to take a three (3) consecutive month leave for the purpose of permitting the full- time attendance of the employee at a designated educational institution or in any other case six (6) consecutive month to twelve (12) consecutive month leave, subject to the conditions outlined below. During the y term (where “y” must be 36, 48, or 60 months), the employee will agree to be paid by the Employer at x/y (where “x” is “y” minus the length of the leave) of the salary normally paid under this Collective Agreement, subject to the conditions outlined below. The amount of the current Compensation Amount deferred by the employee under the plan cannot exceed 33a% in any calendar year in accordance with the Income Tax Act. The employee will endeavour to commence the leave at the beginning of the school year or conclude at the end of the school year. The leave term must be taken in the final year of the plan.

  • Self-Funded Leave 25.2.1 An employee may apply to participate in the self funded leave plan as permitted under the Income Tax Act (Canada) in order to defer pre-tax salary dollars to fund a leave of absence. The deferral period must be at least one (1) year and not more than four (4) years.

  • Self-Funded Leave Plan 26.01 The Self Funded Leave Plan has been developed to afford Employees the opportunity of taking up to one year leave of absence and, through deferral of salary, to finance the leave subject to the regulations under the Income Tax Act.

  • Cyclic Employment Leave Leave without pay will be granted to cyclic year employees during their off season.

  • Re-employment List An employee who is reduced in position, or who is laid off by reason of a reduction in force accomplished pursuant to this Section, shall automatically have his/her name placed on a re- employment list for the position which he/she formerly held. The ranking of names upon such re- employment list shall be in accordance with the employee’s length of service with the City in that position. Such re-employment lists shall have priority for a period of two (2) years over any other eligibility list for such affected position, providing, however, that employees not reinstated within six (6) months after being laid off must pass a pre-employment physical examination prior to reinstatement.

The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such leave, and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company's costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company. The Company shall provide such employees with free and reduced-rate transportation in accordance with Company regulations. Such employees shall continue to accrue seniority and service while on leave of absence.
