Employee Requested Training. Any employee who successfully completes a training course related to the employee’s job, which has previously been approved by the Employer prior to enrollment, shall be reimbursed by the Employer for the total cost of tuition and books required, provided the employee receives a passing grade.

Employee Requested Training. This section applies when a Member requests funding to attend a course, seminar, workshop, correspondence course or other type of training that is not required by the Employer. Costs paid by the Employer may include registration, tuition or other course fees. The Member will pay for textbooks and other materials that remain the property of the Member. In order for the Employer to pay for the training, the Member must make written application and enter into a repayment agreement.
Employee Requested Training. All employee requested training, as distinguished from Employer required training provided for in Section 1 above, shall be subject to and in accordance with the following terms and conditions:
Employee Requested Training. Employees may request the City to pay for their attendance at special classes or seminars offered by area colleges, business schools, professional organizations, consulting firms and private business. An employee wishing to take a class, seminar, or course, which is not for college credit must complete a "Conference, Seminar and Training Approval " request form. The form must be approved by the employee's supervisor, Department Director and the Mayor prior to enrollment in the class. Taking formal classroom courses or participating in other self- development activity during non-duty and evening hours is encouraged. However, an employee's participation in an evening or weekend educational program selected by the employee will generally not be considered compensable time unless otherwise approved by the appropriate Department Director and the Mayor. In such cases, salary or travel expenses will generally not be provided. Questions regarding whether attendance should be considered compensable should be referred to the Human Resources Director.

Employee Requested Training trainings, seminars, conferences, etc. or representation of the Employer which is attended by an employee at the employee’s option will be compensated on the basis of a standard work day and no overtime will be compensated for attendance or travel time spent in excess of the standard work day. For those employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Employer sponsored training (i.e., seminars, conferences, etc.) or representation attended by an employee at the employee’s option shall be compensated as required under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Generally, this means compensated for a standard work day.

Employee Requested Training. If an employee voluntarily requests to attend a training course or function related to their position that is scheduled outside of their regular work hours and that is not otherwise assigned, the employee must receive approval from the Department Head prior to attendance. If approved, attendance will be compensated as provided in Section A above. Training that is not assigned may be with or without pay at the discretion of the County. The employee shall be advised at the time that training is approved as to whether the training is considered assigned or voluntary training.
Employee Requested Training. Prior to April 1 of each year, employees desiring Borough-funded, job-related training during the next fiscal year shall submit to their department head a written proposal outlining and describing the specific training program desired, explaining its relevance to the employee's job, and estimating its cost, including any related travel expenses and personnel replacement costs.   • Employee Requests To reduce the impact of a layoff, an employee may request a voluntary layoff, leave without pay, a reduction in compensation, reduction in hours of work, or movement to a funded, vacant exempt position for which the employee is qualified.
