EMPLOYEE FAMILY ASSISTANCE. 4.1 AEM will provide access without cost to a culturally appropriate Employee Family Assistance Program to all Inuit employees and their immediate families, with trained counsellors to address issues such as drug and alcohol addiction, financial planning, family counselling, domestic abuse and gambling.
EMPLOYEE FAMILY ASSISTANCE. PROGRAM (EFAP) 34.01 Substance abuse is recognized to be a serious medical and social problem that can affect employees. The Company and the Union have a strong interest in encouraging early treatment and assisting employees towards full rehabilitation. The Company will recognize the Union’s EFAP representative and pay up to five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars for training and education of such person during the term of this agreement. The Company will continue to provide a comprehensive approach towards dealing with substance abuse and its related problems. Company assistance will include referral of such employees to appropriate counselling services or treatment and rehabilitation facilities. The Company will provide a leave of absence and all normal group insurance benefits while under a medically prescribed course of treatment.
