Employee Appeals Board. If the aggrieved employee elects to submit the grievance first to the Employee Appeals Board, the Board shall be convened to hear the grievance on its merits with the purpose of attempting to resolve it in a satisfactory manner. This Board shall consist of three (3) members. One member shall be appointed by the affected employee or the Association; one member shall be appointed by the City; and the third member, who shall act as chairperson, shall be selected by the other two members. No member of the Board shall be a person in the normal line of supervision nor from within the same department or division as the affected employee. No member of the Board shall be compensated by the City for serving on the Board except that if a City employee serves on the Board, he or she shall be released for such service without loss of regular base hourly rate compensation during his/her normal work hours. The Employee Appeals Board shall then determine the facts of the grievance and submit a report of its findings along with a recommendation for settlement within ten (10) calendar days from their appointment to the case. Copies of the report and recommendations shall be submitted to the City Manager and the aggrieved employee.

The parties agree that the Joint Benefits Committee shall explore all potential options or changes that could generate cost reductions to the Benefit Plans with the following order of priorities:

  • Mandate of the Committee The mandate of the Education Worker Diverse and Inclusive Workforce Committee is to jointly explore and identify best practices that support diversity, equity, inclusion and to xxxxxx diverse and inclusive workforces reflective of Ontario’s diverse communities.

  • The Board 6.1 The appointment, dismissal and conduct of the Board shall be regulated in accordance with this agreement and the Articles.

  • Health Care Committee A Health Insurance Committee shall be established and maintained with at least three (3) representatives appointed by the Association and three (3) representatives appointed by the Superintendent. The purpose of the Committee shall be to make recommendations designed to optimize the quality of health care available to District employees and improve cost effectiveness of the health insurance program. Committee members shall review data, work with the District insurance consultant, collaborate on making recommendations for changes in plan design, review bids by insurance companies, and ultimately consider recommending plan changes to their respective constituencies. The Committee is not empowered to unilaterally make changes in health care benefits without ratification by the Association and approval by the Board. The creation of the Committee does not diminish or in any way reduce the Board’s and Association’s rights or responsibilities.

  • Executive Board In addition to the rules in Section 6.2, the following rules shall apply:
