Emergency Travel Assistance. The Company will supply a blanket Emergency Travel Assistance Policy, at Company expense. The Policy shall be administered between Finning (Canada), a Division of Finning International Inc. and the insurance provider. The Company agrees that there shall be no change to benefit levels unless negotiated and agreed between the parties.
Emergency Travel Assistance. Employees and all dependents are covered for Emergency Travel Assistant benefits. If you or your dependents are faced with a medical emergency when travelling outside of the province where you live, Worldwide Assistance Services can help. This benefit, called Medi-Passport, supplements the emergency portion of your Extended Health Care coverage. It only covers emergency services that you obtain within 180 days of leaving the province where you live. For more information, please refer to the Emergency Travel Assistance section of your Group Benefits booklet. This benefit is paid one hundred (100) percent by the Company.

Emergency return travel arrangements- In the event of an emergency we are available to assist 24/7 with making hotel, flight and car rental arrangements to assist the Insured in returning home. Roadside Assistance - We can assist in dispatching a tow truck or other appropriate roadside event (lock-out, gas, batter, etc) to the Insured’s location in the event of a roadside emergency.

General description of the coverage Effective February 1,2002: The contract holder has the sole legal and financial liability for this benefit. Sun Life only acts as administrator behalf of the contract holder. In this section, means the employee and all dependents covered for Emergency Travel Assistance benefits. If you are faced with a medical emergency when travelling outside of the province where you live, Worldwide Assistance Services Inc. can help. An emergency is an acute, unexpected condition, illness, disease or injury that requires immediate assistance. This benefit, called supplements the emergency portion of your Extended Health Care coverage. It only covers services that you obtain within days of leaving the province where you live. If hospitalization occurs within this time period, in-patient services are covered until you are discharged. The coverage is subject to any maximum applicable to the emergency portion of the Extended Health Care benefit. We recommend that you bring your card with you when you travel. It contains telephone numbers and the needed to confirm your coverage and receive assistance. Getting help If it is possible, you or someone with you must contact a Worldwide Assistance Coordination Centre and receive approval before any services are provided. If contact cannot be made before services are provided, contact should be made as soon as possible afterwards.
Emergency Travel Assistance. This program is an enhancement to the extended health care benefit above which provides emergency medical assistance while traveling outside Canada. It provides for: - guarantee of payment of emergency medical charges in excess of $200.00. Charges of less then $200.00 are to be paid by the employee and then submitted as any other extended health care claim, when you return - payment of expenses related to return of dependent children (maximum $1500.00) or traveling companion; visit of a family member (maximum $1500.00); vehicle return (maximum $1000.00); repatriation (maximum $5000.00) - assistance with locating medical facilities, arranging for admission to hospital, or legal referral assistance Coverage is provided while traveling during the first 60 days of any trip.
