Common use of Emergency Situations Clause in Contracts

Emergency Situations. All time during the on-site workday not assigned to direct student- teacher classroom time will be available for assignment at the discretion of the building principal or immediate supervisor when needed due to emergency situations. An emergency situation is a temporary unexpected set of circumstances that constitute a threat to students or employees. An emergency will not extend beyond a period of ten (10) duty days unless extended by an act of the Board of Education. Before assigning unit members to emergency supervision duty, the site principal or designees shall first ask for volunteers and shall assign all volunteers, if any, before any other unit members are assigned to emergency supervision.
