Emergency Leaves. Employees shall be granted leave of absence at full pay not to exceed a total of eight (8) days per year for the following:
Emergency Leaves such leaves will be granted in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
Emergency Leaves. Employees shall be entitled to paid or unpaid leaves, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000 as amended.
Emergency Leaves. Leaves of absence without pay for emergency situations may be granted employees at the discretion of the head of the facility. Normally, an employee must have at least six (6) months service to be considered for a leave of absence. A leave of absence request shall not be unreasonably denied. The following are some of the situations normally considered to be just reasons for such leave: (a) death in the immediate family; (b) sickness or injury in the immediate family; (c) care of newborn children or the adoption of children. Such leaves of absence shall not be in excess of thirty (30) days (leaves of absence as described in (c) above shall not be in excess of ninety (90) days but may be requested by the employee or approved by the Employer for less than ninety (90) days), but may be extended beyond that time or granted in greater increments at the discretion of the head of the facility but in no case will the combination of leaves as set forth in paragraphs 6.41 and 6.42 exceed six (6) months.
Emergency Leaves. The ten (10) days emergency leave provision as in accordance with the Employment Standards act is inclusive of the days provided within the collective agreement.
Emergency Leaves. Employees are eligible for up to ten (10) days per year unpaid leave. Eligibility for this leave shall be as per the Employment Standards Act.
Emergency Leaves. 17 Emergencies are defined as those situations which cannot be dealt with outside of working hours 18 which are unplanned and which require the individual to absent themself from their duties. 19 Emergencies are not defined as injury or sickness to the person. Emergency leaves are to be deducted 20 from the total of twelve (12) days compensated leave maximum per year or from the total accumulated 21 leave.
Emergency Leaves. Any member of the Unit may apply for an emergency leave, without pay, for up to ten (10) days per year in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. Written application to the Superintendent of Human Resources shall be made in advance whenever possible. An employee shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of pay but with deduction from sick leave credit, in crisis situations, which include, but are not limited to the hospitalization of family members, fire or violence within the home. Crisis shall be interpreted to mean a time of grave danger.
Emergency Leaves. Principals shall have the power to grant full-time employees permission to be absent without loss of salary for parts of a day, not to exceed one-half day, when good reason (emergency) for such absence exists.
Emergency Leaves. Any member of CUPE Local 5200.02 may apply for an emergency leave, without pay in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. Written application to the Executive Officer Human Resources Services shall be made in advance whenever possible.
