Emergency Days. Up to two (2) emergency days during a school year for uncontrollable emergency situations, subject to the written approval of the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Emergency Days. When schools are closed for emergencies which are not inclement weather/snow days (e.g., spread of disease/illness, water pipes frozen, no heat, etc.) and are days which will not be made-up in the calendar, staff will not suffer a loss of pay. This pay guarantee shall not apply in any single event beyond an initial five (5) working days period. Personal leave days may be used for emergency days if the employee chooses in the event such days are otherwise not paid.
Emergency Days. A teacher is eligible for emergency days at the discretion of the District. Emergency days are reserved for unanticipated, unforeseeable situations that require the teacher's personal attention which cannot be attended to when school is not in session and which are not covered under other short term leave days.
Emergency Days. During times of emergencies, Volusia County School District employees are expected to maintain public services and to meet new service needs brought about by the emergency conditions. Service demands may go beyond the scope of regularly assigned duties, calling on staff to assume new responsibilities and remain on duty for extended periods of time. The Volusia County School District and the Volusia United Educators, in the interests of maintaining a safe environment for the students during times involving critical incidents such as severe weather, hazardous material spills, fire, or other emergency situations, agree to the following:
Emergency Days. When inclement weather or other emergencies result in the cancellation of classes, the following shall apply:
Emergency Days. If a teacher requests a personal or sick leave day on a day which subsequently is declared an emergency day, the teacher who wanted to use sick or personal leave on that day shall suffer no sick or personal leave deduction, loss of pay or benefit.
Emergency Days. 14.1 All employees shall be paid their regular rate of pay for their regular shift when schools in which they are assigned do not open due to an epidemic, severe weather conditions, or other public emergency. Days to be made up will be scheduled at the Superintendent’s discretion with reasonable notice to the employees. Employees who are not required to work on an emergency day shall not be compensated unless overtime applies.
Emergency Days. 6.8.1 Employees who work on an annual or school year basis shall not lose a day of pay as result of a declared emergency day nor shall the employee be paid an additional amount as a result of the extension of the school calendar due to the make-up of a declared emergency day.
Emergency Days a. The parties recognize that emergencies may occur from time to time that require the absence of a professional covered by this Agreement from customary employment responsibilities within the District. When such emergencies occur, an individual shall be given time off subject only to the requirement that an explanation of the emergency shall be provided to the individual's supervisor if one is requested.
Emergency Days. In the event of a school emergency day when school is forced to close, twelve month staff will have the option to attend work, take a personal or vacation day, or take an unpaid day if all personal and vacation days have been used. With advance approval from the direct supervisor of the Bargaining Unit Member, a modified starting and ending time may be used for the safety of the Bargaining Unit Member.
