Emergency Closings and Late Starts. When schools are closed due to inclement weather, snow or other unforeseen circumstances such as mechanical failure and such closure has been officially promulgated, teachers shall not be expected to report to work. If days lost by such emergency result in the school year falling below the minimum required by law, days lost by such emergencies may be rescheduled by the school district after consultation with the RFT President. In the case of school being closed due to extreme cold, teachers will report to work. In the event an officiallate start” is called by the District, all teachers are expected to report for duty as soon as safe travel permits. The latest, acceptable report time shall be the normal report time plus length of the “late start” (e.g., normal start time is 8:00 a.m.; in a 2 hour late start, the latest, acceptable report time shall be 10:00 a.m.).

Emergency Closings and Late Starts. In the event that school is closed due to an emergency or inclement weather, employees shall be paid for the first day that school is closed, provided a substitute paraprofessional is not is not paid for that day. On the second day that school is closed, the school district shall determine an alternate day for staff development. In the event a paraprofessional is unable to attend the alternate staff development day, the school district shall offer other opportunities such as, but not limited to, online training or another district sponsored event. For all subsequent days that schools are closed, paraprofessionals shall be paid for such days. Employees shall adjust their hours to the announced starting time on delayed school opening days and shall be paid for their normal day. On student contact days where early dismissal is directed by the District due to an emergency, employees shall be released by the building principal one-half (.5) hour after students leave the building, and employees shall be paid for their normal day. In the event school is cancelled for a full day on which an employee was previously scheduled to use personal leave, such personal leave will not be deducted from the employee's leave allowance, provided a substitute is not paid for the day.

When schools are closed due to inclement weather and the district declares an e-learning day Robbinsdale Equity Allies will be paid the full wages for scheduled work hours and benefits for the duration of the e-learning period. Robbinsdale Equity Allies will be allowed to work from home to the extent practicable, be assigned to work in an alternative location, or be retained on an on-call basis for any potential need. In the event an officiallate start” or delayed day is called by the District, all REA members are expected to report for duty as soon as safe travel permits. REA members will work and must be paid in according to their regular work hours. In the event of an early dismissal of a school day; REA members are expected to work until all students leave the building and will be paid in accordance for the entire day.

  • Emergency Closure Where there is a temporary closure as a result of an immediate emergency or a planned temporary closure due to renovations, repairs, or moves, the Employer will:

The University’s inability to make a Room available to me for any reason beyond the University’s control including, but not limited to, natural disaster, fire, flood, earthquake, condemnation, pandemic, quarantine, utility malfunction, infestation, or other emergency or force majeure event shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement by the University. In such circumstances, the University shall have no liability to me in any way for injuries, reimbursement, damages, inconvenience, annoyance or compensation of any kind.   • Emergency Call Out A call‐out shall occur when supervisory personnel specifically require an employee to perform emergency work outside the regular scheduled hours. All employees shall be paid two (2) times the regular rate of pay for all time worked during a call‐out for a minimum of two (2) hours up to a maximum of three (3) hours. All additional time worked over the three (3) hours emergency call‐out shall be at the regular overtime rate of pay of the employee. Anytime an employee on standby is monitoring the work of others they shall receive emergency call‐out pay.

  • Emergency Childcare Employees may use vacation leave for childcare emergencies after the employee has exhausted all of their accrued compensatory time. Use of vacation leave and sick leave for emergency childcare is limited to a combined maximum of four (4) days per calendar year.
