ELL Teachers. Section 13.7.1 Caseloads for ELL teachers should not exceed 50 students.
ELL Teachers. The workday for ELL teachers shall be a 7-hour day with one hour of plan time, a one-hour duty-free lunch period and two hours of office hours.
ELL Teachers a. Current staffing allocations will remain across the district until ELPA placement testing can resume.
ELL Teachers. The Supervisor of ELL will, by the first ELL staff meeting of the school year, provide a report regarding the assignment of ELL teachers in the District. In recognition that students at beginning, intermediate and advanced language proficiency levels need different levels of support, staffing will be allocated accordingly in the spring. The structure of the instructional day where the students will be served will receive equal consideration in making decisions about staffing. Staffing in the fall will be adjusted as needed due to changes in enrollment and student language proficiency growth that may occur after the initial allocation. BEA and BSD will discuss ELL staffing as necessary during Meet and Confer. When making assignments for ELL teachers, the District will make every reasonable effort to minimize the number of sites served by any individual employee and will consider caseload numbers and the distance between buildings.
ELL Teachers. For the 2009-2010 school year, the Board agrees to pay a one-time $4000 supplement to all newly hired and/or newly assigned teachers certified and highly qualified in ELL K-12 who are assigned to teach that subject at least 50% of the day in a high priority school in grades K-12. ELL Teachers. The English Learner Teacher position shall be staffed by Bilingual Program Coordinators (BPCs) who are responsible for coordinating services provided to English Learners. The roles, responsibilities, and duties are published annually by the Office of Language and Cultural Education in CPS. The Bilingual Program Coordinator shall not be tasked with responsibilities outside the scope of this role (e.g., World Language Instruction, Substitute Teaching, lunch duty, etc.).
