Eligibility for Promotions. For the rank of Lieutenant, six years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement, including two (2) years of continuous service as a Sergeant. One year of this continuous service must succeed successful completion of his/her trial basis/probationary period as a Sergeant.
Eligibility for Promotions. A. A firefighter must serve in the lower rank a minimum of twenty-four (24) months before becoming eligible to take a promotional exam for the position of lieutenant.

Faculty members with consistently satisfactory performance in teaching, scholarship, and service, as defined in the Department and College Promotion Guidelines, since the last promotion or appointment are entitled to consideration for promotion at the completion of the years of service stated below. Faculty members with consistently outstanding performance in teaching, scholarship, and service, as defined in the Department and College Promotion Guidelines, since the last promotion or appointment are entitled to consideration for early promotion before the completion of the years of service stated below with the exceptions described herein. The burden of demonstrating the outstanding nature of the performance shall rest with the applicant. For the purposes of this article, a terminal degree is defined in Appendix A.
Eligibility for Promotions. An Employee must have five (5) years of full-time service with the Pittsfield Township Fire Department and have completed their probationary period, to be eligible for promotion within the Unit.

To the Rank of Lieutenant 15 In order to be automatically eligible to take the promotional examination for the rank of 16 Lieutenant, an employee must be off probation and must have a minimum of five (5) 17 continuous years in the rank of patrol officer with the Bucyrus Police Department as of 18 the scheduled date of the examination. 20 If less than two (2) officers meeting the five (5) year minimum requirement are eligible 21 or willing to take the lieutenant promotional examination, then the time in service 22 requirement shall be automatically reduced to three (3) continuous years. A passing 23 score on the written examination shall be 70%. A candidate must achieve at least a 24 passing score on the written examination to be eligible for seniority credit. Credit for 25 seniority shall equal one half(½) point for each full year of service as an officer with the 26 Bucyrus Police Department as of the date of the written examination, not to exceed ten 27 (10) points.
