Eligibility for Promotions. For the rank of Lieutenant, six years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement, including two (2) years of continuous service as a Sergeant. One year of this continuous service must succeed successful completion of his/her trial basis/probationary period as a Sergeant.

Eligibility for Promotions. A. A firefighter must serve in the lower rank a minimum of twenty-four (24) months before becoming eligible to take a promotional exam for the position of lieutenant.

A passing 23 score on the written examination shall be 70%. A candidate must achieve at least a 24 passing score on the written examination to be eligible for seniority credit. Credit for 25 seniority shall equal one half(½) point for each full year of service as an officer with the 26 Bucyrus Police Department as of the date of the written examination, not to exceed ten 27 (10) points.
