Educational Policy Committee. 3.4.1 An Educational Policy Committee (EPC) shall be established, which will have twelve (12) members. Six (6) faculty members shall be appointed by the Association according to its guidelines and constitution with the following representation: two (2) from the College of Arts and Sciences; one (1) from the College of Business or Library and Instructional Support; one (1) from the College of Health Sciences and Professional Studies; and two (2) members at large. Members representing the administration will include the deans of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Health Sciences and Professional Studies, Library and Instructional Support, and two (2) members at large. A chairperson shall be elected by and from the membership of the EPC. The chairperson shall be chosen from the representatives of the administration in odd-numbered years (i.e., 2021-2022) and from the Association in even- numbered years (i.e., 2022-2023). One (1) of the EPC faculty members will be designated by the Association to attend meetings of the Deans and Department Heads.

Educational Policy Committee. An Educational Policy Committee, which shall include at least five (5) teachers appointed by the Union President or designee shall be established. Because of the recognized concern about and the complex nature of the problems associated with freedom of individual expression in the classroom, reduction in teaching staff due to economic factors and reduced enrollment, and the size of the class as it affects the education of students, the Committee shall consider such matters as well as any other matter it deems relevant to the improvement of the educational program of the District. Prior to November 15 of each year, the Committee shall meet with the Superintendent or designee on a mutually agreeable time and date (but not during the normal teacher workday) to discuss these specifically enumerated issues. Five (5) days prior to such meeting, the Committee shall provide the Superintendent or designee a copy of the proposed agenda for the meeting. After this meeting, the Committee shall meet at such times and places as it deems appropriate (but not during the normal teacher workday). If the Committee shall reach any recommendations, such shall be put in writing and submitted to the Superintendent, together with any dissenting views. At the Committee's request, a copy of such recommendations shall be transmitted to the Board by the Superintendent no later than forty-five (45) calendar days following its original submission to the Superintendent. The Board or its designee shall inform the Committee of what actions the Board takes on such recommendations. In no event shall the Committee make any recommendations on matters covered by this Agreement or with respect to any matter on which a grievance is then pending.

  • Education Committee (a) The Employer will establish an Education Committee for all employees in the facility, which shall include at least one representative from ONA members.

  • Health Insurance Committee The UFF-USF-GAU President will appoint one (1) employee to serve on the University's Student Health Insurance Committee.

  • Special Education Committee The parties agree to establish a committee comprised of representatives from ETFO, the Ministry of Education and school board leadership in the area of special education. Additional representatives may be invited as resources to the committee as needed. The committee will discuss current issues as identified by the parties related to supporting students with special education needs. The committee shall meet regularly commencing no later than November 30, 2015 and recommendations will be made to the Minister of Education by April 30, 2016. Terms of reference will be jointly developed to inform the scope of discussions and recommendations.   • Insurance Committee An Insurance Committee comprised of three (3) representatives selected by the Superintendent and three (3) representatives selected by Okeechobee County Education Association #1604 shall be established to review and make recommendations regarding the health insurance program. The Committee shall meet at least quarterly and may meet more frequently as needed. Notwithstanding the above, any anticipated changes to the hospitalization and health insurance program which would result in a program less than equivalent to the existing program shall be subject to negotiations.

  • Local Safety Committee There shall be established in each department and/or principal place of employment (for example: institutions, hospitals, colleges, transportation department areas, Department of Natural Resources regions, etc.) a joint Safety Committee composed of Appointing Authority representatives selected by the Appointing Authority and employee representatives selected by the Union, one from each bargaining unit represented by the Union but at a minimum, a total of two (2) representatives. If more than one (1) exclusive representative exists in the department or principal place of employment, the Union will attempt to work out an arrangement with the other exclusive bargaining representative(s) to insure their input to the Committee. The chair of the Committee shall be appointed by the Appointing Authority. The Appointing Authority may consider having co-chairs, one management and one labor. The Safety Committee shall meet at least quarterly or as may be legally required and meetings shall be scheduled by the Safety Officer. Additional meetings may be called by the Safety Officer or by the Local Union or Appointing Authority as the need may arise. All Safety Committee meetings shall be held during normal day shift working hours on the Appointing Authority's premises and without loss of pay. The function of the Safety Committee will be to review reports of property damage and personal injury accidents and alleged hazardous working conditions, to provide support for a strong safety program, to review building security issues, and to review and recommend safety policies to the Appointing Authority. Normally, the Committee shall acknowledge in writing receipt of reports of alleged hazardous working conditions within thirty (30) calendar days of their submission. A copy of the Committee's recommendations, if any, to the Appointing Authority regarding the disposition of such reports shall also be provided to the individual who filed the report with the Committee. In addition, the Safety Committee will provide the filing party with a copy of the Appointing Authority's response and/or proposed actions, if any. At the request of the Local Union or Safety Committee, hazard assessments will be made available for review. Each Local Safety Committee in a facility with a laundry and/or a kitchen shall perform a routine heat survey to check temperature, humidity, and exhaust and fan systems in the laundries and kitchens. The Employer agrees to coordinate technical assistance to the Local Safety Committee upon request.

  • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop. One copy will be forwarded to the Union office.

  • Safety Committee 62.1 Where a Health and Safety Committee is established on a job in accordance with section 72 of the OHS Act, it shall include the Employer’s Site Safety Supervisor and the Health and Safety Representative/s.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Health Care Committee A Health Insurance Committee shall be established and maintained with at least three (3) representatives appointed by the Association and three (3) representatives appointed by the Superintendent. The purpose of the Committee shall be to make recommendations designed to optimize the quality of health care available to District employees and improve cost effectiveness of the health insurance program. Committee members shall review data, work with the District insurance consultant, collaborate on making recommendations for changes in plan design, review bids by insurance companies, and ultimately consider recommending plan changes to their respective constituencies. The Committee is not empowered to unilaterally make changes in health care benefits without ratification by the Association and approval by the Board. The creation of the Committee does not diminish or in any way reduce the Board’s and Association’s rights or responsibilities.
