Educational Meetings. Educational meetings shall be defined as those conducted for the purpose of developing skills and qualifications of nurses, enhancing and upgrading the quality of patient care, and shall not include any meetings conducted for the purpose of labor relations or collective bargaining activities.
Educational Meetings. A teacher, upon request, may be granted up to but not to exceed forty (40) hours in any given contract year, the time necessary to attend educational meetings/workshops when permission is granted by the superintendent or designee.

Educational Meetings. The Employer agrees to allow two members of the Guild, as selected by the Guild, unpaid leave of absence, to take up to four (4) days per calendar year, for the purpose of attending training session related to Guild representation, provided that any such unpaid leave shall be scheduled at least thirty (30) days in advance and shall be subject to scheduling limitations of the Police Department. In the event that release of two members shall cause a hardship on police staffing, the City shall be under no obligation to provide or allow for such release.

A majority ‘Yes’ vote will close this matter indefinitely under current law for this Coverage Group. Moving the positions into a new retirement system, or ending the retirement system, will not stop coverage. All positions within the retirement system coverage group - current, future, and ineligibles that become eligible - will pay the Social Security tax (currently 6.2%). If the majority of eligible voters vote NO – Neither you, the employee, nor Valley Regional Transit Authority will withhold and pay the 6.2% Social Security tax. You will not accumulate Social Security work credit through your employment at Valley Regional Transit Authority. Individual who have not accumulated a total combined minimum 40 work credits will not be eligible for Social Security benefits. You must earn a combined total of at least 40 work credits (a total of all covered employment) to qualify for Social Security benefits.

Educational Meetings. The Association has the prerogative of using ten (10) paid days for P.S.E.A. conventions and professional meetings per year with a maximum of three (3) to be used during any one day. Any request for additional days for the above purposes will be given further consideration by the District. For each such day utilized, the Association will reimburse the District for the salary and social security costs of the substitute teacher. The association president or his/her designee shall be granted release time of 1 period (42 minutes) per week as needed for the purpose of conducting business. The president or his/her designee shall suffer no loss of salary or benefits or other professional advantage to which they are entitled as a result using this leave. This leave shall be coordinated with the building principal.
Educational Meetings. After one (1) year of continuous employment, nurses shall be allowed paid leave time per calendar year for attending educational meetings, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences. Such leave is subject to the Employer's review and approval of the course (such as course quality, provider, and content), its assessment of budgetary requirements, and its determination that the number of nurses wishing to attend at any given time does not jeopardize the hospital's service or patient care. To attend an educational class, the nurse must submit a request to the Nurse Manager with as much notice as possible.   • Special Meetings Special meetings of the Trustees may be held at any time and at any place designated in the call of the meeting when called by the President or the Treasurer or by two or more Trustees, sufficient notice thereof being given to each Trustee by the Secretary or an Assistant Secretary or by the officer or the Trustees calling the meeting.
