EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. The District shall pay the costs associated with management approved education and training which will enhance productivity of District employees in their current job with the District. The District shall also pay costs associated with management approved education and training which will enhance the preparation of District employees for a District position in their probable career path. To be eligible for this plan, an employee shall first submit an education plan for review and consideration by the District prior to enrollment into any education incentive program. The submittal shall outline the classes, institute and duration. It will also estimate the total cost of the education and what portion will be requested for reimbursement.

An employee must have completed three years of full-time employment with the District and have achieved above average job performance for the last three consecutive years to be eligible for this section. The education plan submittal shall outline the classes, institute and duration. It will also estimate the total cost of the education and what portion will be requested for reimbursement.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. An Educational Incentive Program shall be continued to provide an opportunity for growth to all workers by the successful completion of district approved courses in adult education, higher education, workshops and in-service training. This shall be an ongoing program of education and study for workers in the bargaining unit of classifications set forth in Article 11 to provide skills and on-the-job effectiveness for the benefit of the district and the worker. The district approved course shall relate directly to the position currently occupied by the worker or to positions the worker may reasonably expect to occupy at some future date. Each worker shall be compensated for related courses and programs as defined above, in the amount of two dollars ($2.00) per unit (fiGeen hours of instruction) per month, to a maximum of twenty-five (25) hours or xXx dollars ($50) per month. Cost of tuition and books will be reimbursed following verification and successful completion of each course. The provisions of this section are not retroactive beyond July 1, 1977.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. For employees hired before May 1, 2012, the following-mentioned college credits must have been earned at or accepted by an accredited California school, college or university in the field of fire science or related subject leading to an A.S. or A.A. degree in Fire Science, subject to approval of the Fire Chief.
