Educational and Professional Leave. The Employer will grant a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of educational professional leave within the fiscal year (currently July 1 – June 30) to nurses requesting such leave. Such leave may be used if staffing permits and shall be prorated for part-time nurses. For purposes of sections 8.3 and 8.4 only, .9 FTE and above shall be considered full time. In addition, nurses may be granted up to an additional sixteen (16) hours (pro-rated for part time) of education and professional leave at the nurse’s regular rate of pay during the fiscal year. Such additional leave shall be subject to budgetary considerations, scheduling requirements, subject matter and approval by the employer. Educational and Professional Leave. Nurses may be allowed up to forty-eight (48) hours of paid educational/professional leave, including time for online educational/professional offerings, per fiscal year; provided, however, such leave shall be subject to budgetary considerations, scheduling requirements of the Hospital and approval by the appropriate nursing Director/Manager. Regarding such leave, a nurse shall upon written request to the Hospital be granted paid educational/professional leave during the fiscal year for clinically relevant education related to the nurse's position at OHMC, so long as scheduling requirements of the Hospital and approval of the Director/Manager are met, in the following amounts of paid educational/professional leave for full-time or part-time nurses based upon a nurse's designated FTE status with hours consistently worked at that level (or per diem nurses with that same service level consistently worked) in the past calendar year: FTE Status .4-.6 FTE .7-.8 FTE .9-1.0 FTE

Educational and Professional Leave. Attendance at professional meetings or visitation at other schools is permitted at full pay, if such absence is approved by the Superintendent or his designated representative. If any employee wishes to be absent from duty for a brief period to attend a professional meeting, or to visit schools, a written request for approval of such absence should be signed by the Director of Buildings and Grounds and filed with the Superintendent or designated representative at least ten {10) days prior to the first day of anticipated absence. All requests will be acknowledged by a letter either granting or rejecting the request. Copies will be forwarded to the custodian, principal, and su pervisor.

  • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.
