Education Incentive Program. A. Covered employees who wish to enroll in job-related or promotion-oriented courses shall be reimbursed by COUNTY for allowable expenses related to the courses in an amount not to exceed seven hundred dollars ($700.00) per calendar year. Allowable expenses shall be actually incurred, shall include tuition costs and out-of-pocket expenses for required course material and textbooks, and shall be subject to the following:

Education Incentive Program. The education incentive program and pay plan for the Madison Fire Department shall be considered as part of this Agreement as though more fully set forth. Such education incentive program is negotiable and subject to the grievance procedure contained in Article 9. Furthermore, the Fire Education Incentive Program shall be amended to provide that an apprentice shall not be eligible to receive Education Incentive pay until he/she is qualified to be issued a Certificate of Apprenticeship and a Journey person Firefighter Certificate and has completed forty-two (42) months of employment. Should the parties agree to changes in the Education Incentive Program, such agreement must be approved by bargaining unit ratification and City Council resolution and adoption.

Education Incentive Program. A. The City agrees to reimburse the cost of tuition and books for any employee who receives academic credits for study in an institution of college level which offers, and in which the employee is enrolled, a college curriculum leading to or accreditable toward an undergraduate Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Police Science or Law Enforcement, not to exceed the equivalency of the cost of tuition at Rutgers.
