Common use of Education Expenses Clause in Contracts

Education Expenses. Section 1. The Parties hereto consider themselves mutually responsible for the improving of public service through creation of improved EMPLOYEE morale and efficiency. In this connection, the Parties agree that they shall encourage EMPLOYEES to pursue outside studies, including correspondence courses, which enhance the EMPLOYEE'S ability to contribute to the City's public service program within the bargaining unit. Where the course is one that has received prior approval of the department head, then the Parties hereto agree that, upon satisfactory completion of the same by the individual EMPLOYEE, the City of Concord shall assume the cost of said course and reimburse the EMPLOYEE to that extent.
