Education Credit. Evaluation of graduate credits and degrees earned (verified by official transcripts) for proper placement at the start of the school year on the salary matrix shall be completed by December 1st. Resultant salary adjustments shall be made retroactive to the beginning of the school year.

Education Credit. When a faculty member has earned the right to a higher salary bracket by reason of increased professional training, the transfer shall be made at the beginning of the next contractual year. Certification of earned credits for this purpose shall be by transcript or certificate of completion and filed in the Superintendent’s office sixty (60) days after completion of such credit.

Education Credit. Persons who have earned a university or college degree or completed credit hours at an accredited institution of higher learning such as a university, college or junior college shall receive preference for promotions to positions in the classified service in the same manner as such preference is awarded for military service and in the amounts set out herein: Associates degree, or sixty (60) college credit hours 2.5 points Bachelors degree 5.0 points Five (5.0) points is the maximum total number of points that may be awarded.
Education Credit. A teacher who has earned the necessary professional growth credit for horizontal advancement on the salary schedule must file a lane change request form and a transcript or a certificate of completion with the Superintendent or designee for advancement as follows:

Employees hired prior to 2007/2008 school year with non-graduate hours will retain these hours to receive credit for a lane change. Any additional hours will be graduate level coursework unless pre-approved by the Superintendent. Employees hired before the 2007-2008 school year will be able to move to Lane 3/MA upon completing 30 credit hours of post-Bachelor Degree classes which may be either non-graduate or graduate level courses. However, any courses taken during or after the 2007-2008 school year in order to obtain the 30 additional credit hours, must be graduate level courses. Also, employees hired before the 2007-2008 school year, with graduate hours that are not related to their Masters Degree, will retain these hours to receive additional credit for a lane change above Lane 3/MA upon completing a Masters Degree. Employees hired during or after the 2007-2008 school year, and upon completing a Masters Degree, will be moved to Lane 3/MA. Any course work completed prior to the completion of the Masters Degree, will not be applied for any additional lane changes at that time. Employees hired during or after the 2007- 2008 school year wishing to move to any lane above Lane 3/MA may only apply graduate hours earned after the completion of a Masters Degree. Any additional hours will be graduate level coursework unless pre-approved by the Superintendent.
