Education and Tuition. 1. Employees shall have the privilege of taking college course(s) during their regular working hours, provided that the College President or his designee approves the request and that the time spent at such class(es) be made up during their workweek. If the class is taken during the employee’s lunch period, there will be no time owed the College by that employee for that period. Dependents shall also have the privilege of taking college courses. Tuition shall be waived for both employees and their dependents, for courses taken in the City Colleges of Chicago for which the Board receives State reimbursement.

Education and Tuition. Section 1. Employees may be granted training leave to attend courses in the Fire, EMS, any other Technical Skill or administrative courses related to the fire service. Requests for leave will be judged on the basis of job performance and the Department work load and are subject to the approval of the Chief. Such leave may not be granted if the course is offered during an Employee's regular non-duty hours.
Education and Tuition. Non-probationary part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work 15 hours or more per week for the previous calendar year, shall be eligible to receive an annual tuition waiver of up to nine credit hours for transfer courses offered by CCC. Non-probationary part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work 15 hours or more per week for the previous calendar year shall be eligible to enroll in an additional 3 credit hours for transfer courses up to a maximum of 12 credit hours for transfer courses on the Friday before the first day of class, if space is available.

  • Education Reimbursement The County will provide education reimbursement for education costs incurred by regular employees who apply for such reimbursement in accordance with the policies and procedures governing the education reimbursement program. The maximum reimbursement shall be $1,500 per year.
