EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. 99. The Department will not unreasonably refuse permission for release time without pay for an employee covered by this CBA to attend seminars or training activities selected by the employee designed to increase the capacity of an employee to perform his/her job. Permission for release time shall be subject to staffing requirements of the Department and approved by the supervisor. An employee may also request to attend other related training seminars with pay as part of his/her assignment, and the Supervisor will give due consideration and not unreasonably refuse the request.

Other than training required by management, access to training opportunities shall be provided equitably to all EMPLOYEES who indicate their willingness to participate in such training. EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. The University and HUCTW agree that the Harvard community is firmly committed to the career development and growth of employees. One measure of organizational strength is the degree to which employees develop toward their full potential. Ours is a richer and more productive workplace when employees decide to build careers at Harvard. Employees should seek out, and the University and its schools and administrative units should support and encourage, participation in a wide range of career development activities including: job training and skill building, job enhancement, the pursuit of formal education, and opportunities to transfer within the University. A joint Steering Committee will be established, consisting of equal numbers of designees of the University and the Union, to monitor the implementation of policies and principles set forth in this Article. The Committee will function by consensus and will consult the University Joint Council should it have difficulty reaching consensus. The Committee will concern itself with such issues as the implementation of a job listing database and related transfer application procedures, the offerings of the Center for Training and Development and other training programs, and the feasibility of an Employee Educational Loan Program for employees. Training Training opportunities offered in the University as a whole, whether centrally or locally, will increase or remain substantially the same for the duration of this Agreement. Local and central programs will be responsive to mutually identified training needs. Release time mutually agreed upon by the supervisor and employee may be provided for job-related or development-oriented training programs.
EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. A) Courses/Examinations at the Request of the Employer Leave of absence without loss of pay, seniority and all benefits shall be granted to employees whenever the Employer requests, in writing, that the employee take designated courses and/or examinations. The cost of the course and/or any examination fee and reasonable expenses incurred in taking the course and/or examination shall be paid by the Employer. Wherever possible, contingent upon operational requirements, course attendance will be scheduled to occur during regular working hours. Where an employee is required to attend outside of regular scheduled hours, straight-time pay will apply for the hours in attendance.

  • Career Development The City and the Union agree that employee career growth can be beneficial to both the City and the affected employee. As such, consistent with training needs identified by the City and the financial resources appropriated therefore by the City, the City shall provide educational and training opportunities for employee career growth. Each employee shall be responsible for utilizing those training and educational opportunities made available by the City or other institutions for the self- development effort needed to achieve personal career goals.

  • Education - Asthma This plan covers asthma education services when the services are prescribed by a physician and performed by a certified asthma educator.

  • Staff Development ‌ The County and the Association agree that the County retains full authority to determine training needs, resources that can be made available, and the method of payment for training authorized by the County. Nothing in this subsection shall preclude the right of an employee to request specific training.

  • Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Curriculum Development This includes the analysis and coordination of textual materials; constant review of current literature in the field, some of which are selected for the college library collection, the preparation of selective, descriptive materials such as outlines and syllabi; conferring with other faculty and administration on curricular problems; and, the attendance and participation in inter and intra-college conferences and advisory committees.

  • Educational Programs 412. Subject to the approval of the appointing officer, Personal Property Auditors and other represented employees shall be on paid status when attending educational programs required to maintain a job-related state license.
