Early Tenure. Tenure may be awarded by the Board of Trustees prior to the completion of the regular probation period after it has given reasonable consideration to the recommendations of the Tenure Review Committee.

Early Tenure. The decision to submit a portfolio for tenure earlier than the sixth year must be initiated by the candidate, in consultation with the chair/director and senior faculty (professors and associate professors), and approved by the xxxx. An employee being considered for tenure prior to the sixth year may withdraw from consideration on or before December 30 without prejudice.
Early Tenure. In addition to being considered for tenure during the sixth consecutive year of full-time service, a member of the full-time Faculty who is a member of the bar- gaining unit may apply or be sponsored for tenure only once prior to the sixth consecutive year of full-time service ("Early Tenure"). Notification of a decision to grant or to deny Early Tenure shall be given within six (6) months from the time that the application for Early Tenure is made. Notification of a decision to deny tenure will include an explana- tion of the reasons for the decision.
