During Leave. If an Employee is on leave at any time during the probationary period, time spent on leave will not count towards fulfilling the probationary period.
During Leave. During any unpaid leave of absence in excess of six months, employees will be required to pay their own monthly premium costs for the Group life coverage, dental plan, vision plan, and medical plans provided under this Agreement. To break a leave of absence for purposes of continuing/restoring benefits and benefit contributions requires a return to active duty for a thirty (30) consecutive calendar day period. Partial days shall be counted toward the requirement. Vacation leave (paid or unpaid), which was pre-scheduled and approved in advance of the commencement of the leave of absence, and which falls during this 30-day period, shall be considered time worked in meeting the 30- day requirement. One absence (paid or unpaid) of no greater than one (1) day during this 30- day period may be taken without effect on benefits. Benefits and contributions that have been terminated shall be reinstated, upon successful completion of the 30-day active return to duty period, retroactive to the first day of return to active duty (the first day of the consecutive 30- day period). Employees who are in a protected leave status when they return to work (e.g. Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, CFRA, etc.) shall have their benefits reinstated from the first day of active duty.
During Leave. During the period of the industrial accident or illness leave, the employee shall be paid by the District the regular day's wage, and the employee shall endorse for payment to the District the Workers' Compensation Insurance check. Payment for wages lost on any day shall not, when added to an award granted the employee under the Workers' Compensation Insurance, exceed the normal wage for the day.

In accordance with the Employment Standards Act, the Parental Leave of an employee who takes a Pregnancy Leave, must begin when the Pregnancy Leave ends unless otherwise provided for under the Act.
