Duration of Sick Leave. In no case shall sick leave for any one absence exceed a period of eighty five (85) days. When the provisions of this benefit have been exhausted, eligible employees have access to Long Term Disability Plan benefits if they qualify.

Duration of Sick Leave. After 90 school days of continuous absence due to medical disability, no further salary shall be paid and the long term disability plan shall take effect.
Duration of Sick Leave. Sick leave commences on the first day of scheduled availability to the Company and continues until, but not including, the first full day on which the Company has been notified that the employee is ready and physically qualified for duty.
Duration of Sick Leave. The duration of sick leave with pay due to a not-work related injury or illness shall continue as long as the employee receives full pay from the County based on accumulated leave credits. At the time leave credit is exhausted and the employee receives no salary from the County, sick leave without pay may be granted by the appointing power for a reasonable period of disability subject to the final authorization by the Board, in accordance with FMLA/OFLA laws. If sick leave without pay is approved, the appointing power may require periodic certification of the employee's physical condition from the attending physician or practitioner during the period of disability, in accordance with FMLA/OFLA laws. For the purpose of this section, a reasonable period means a period not to exceed 30 days, if the employee has already exhausted his/her FMLA/OFLA leave, and that during or at the conclusion of such period, the employee can be expected to return to the employee's former position. Sick leave without pay may be approved for a lesser period, may be extended or terminated if, in the opinion of the appointing power, it is necessary to fill the position with a replacement employee. Sick leave without pay shall only be approved for a period having a fixed date of termination and shall not be open ended.

  • Expiration of Sick Leave If illness or disability continues beyond the time covered by earned sick leave, the employee may be granted a disability leave or a personal leave in accordance with this Agreement.

  • Utilization of Sick Leave Employees who have accrued paid leave time shall be eligible for paid leave for any period of absence from employment which includes but is not limited to the employee’s illness; injury; temporary disability; medical or dental care; or to attend to members of the employee’s or the employee’s spouse’s immediate family or domestic partner or domestic partner’s immediate family, where the employee’s presence is required because of illness or as otherwise required by the state or federal Family Medical Leave Act or other State law. The Employer may, in its sole discretion, require reasonable proof of illness or disability and/or certification of the necessity of the employee’s absence.

  • Donation of Sick Leave The District shall allow unit members to donate sick leave to individual employees who have suffered long-term disabilities or illnesses. Donating unit members shall retain a thirty (30) day balance of sick leave after their donation and may donate no more than twenty-five (25) days of sick leave per year. The donation form is Appendix I. Part-time faculty may receive sick leave donations from any employee, and may donate accumulated sick leave to other part-time faculty following the same requirements as outlined above. Part-time faculty may not donate sick leave to full- time employees.

  • Accumulation of Sick Leave The unused portion of an Employee's sick leave shall accrue for her future benefit, up to a maximum of one hundred and thirty (130) days.

  • Exhaustion of Sick Leave For reasons valid under the conditions specified in this collective bargaining agreement for sick leave, anyone who exhausts sick leave will be granted leave without pay due to the exhaustion of sick leave.   • Utilization of Sick Leave with Pay Temporary employees who have earned sick leave credits in their temporary appointment shall be eligible for sick leave for any period of absence from employment due to any of the following reasons: • illness; • bodily injury; • disability resulting from pregnancy; • necessity for medical or dental care; • if the employee is a victim of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault, or stalking; or the parent or guardian of a minor child or dependent who is a victim of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault or stalking, pursuant to ORS 659A.270 through 659A.290; • attendance at an employee assistance program; • exposure to contagious disease; • for the emergency repair of personal assistive devices which are medically necessary for the employee to perform assigned duties; • attendance upon members of the employee’s or the employee’s spouse’s immediate family, or the equivalent of each for domestic partners, (parent, wife, husband, children, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, or another member of the immediate household) where the employee’s presence is required because of illness or death; • parental leave. The employee has the duty to insure that they make other arrangements, within a reasonable period of time, for the attendance upon children or other persons in the employee’s care. Certification of an attending physician or practitioner may be required by the Agency to support the employee’s claim for sick leave if the employee is absent in excess of seven (7) days, or if the Agency has evidence that the employee is abusing sick leave privileges. The Agency may also require such certificate from an employee to determine whether the employee should be allowed to return to work where the Agency has reason to believe that the employee’s return to work would be a health hazard to either the employee or to others. (See Section 4 for FMLA and OFLA.)

  • Notification of Sick Leave Days The Board shall notify employees and the Bargaining Unit, when they have exhausted their 11 days allocation of sick leave at 100% of salary.

  • Administration of Sick Leave The proper administration of sick leave is a responsibility of the employee and the department head. Unless otherwise provided in the supplemental sections of this MOU, the following procedures apply:
