Double Shifts. In the event double shifting is necessary, it will occur through mutual agreement between the nurse and supervision.
Double Shifts. Any nurse who works a double shift of at least 16 hours in combination, may request to have her next scheduled shift off, if that shift is within 24 hours of the end of her double shift. If the nurse requests, she shall be entitled to draw on any accrued and unused annual leave to cover the hours of the shift she has requested off. If the nurse has opted for taking her shift off and patient demand cannot be covered by another nurse and, therefore, the nurse is required to work her shift, the nurse will receive payment at the overtime rate of time and one-half (1½x) for all hours worked on that shift.
Double Shifts. It is mutually understood and agreed that working a double shift (i.e., two shifts in any one twenty-four hour period) is undesirable.
Double Shifts. (a) No Nurse shall be required to work a double shift without her consent, except in emergency situations, unless the Employer has made every reasonable effort to find a Nurse to work the shift.
Double Shifts. An Employee shall not be required to work a double shift without her/his consent. All hours worked beyond seven and one half (7.5) hours (eleven and one quarter (11.25) hours) shall be at time and one half and any additional hours worked after fifteen (15) hours shall be compensated at the rate of double time. A rest period of less than eight (8) hours shall not break the hours referenced above. If the rest period is less than eight (8) hours prior to the Employee’s next regularly scheduled shift, and the Employee is required to work, she/he will continue to be compensated at the overtime rate. If the rest period is less than eight (8) hours prior to the Employee’s next regularly scheduled shift, and the Employee chooses to work, she/he will be compensated at her/his regular rate of pay.

Double Shifts. When an employee is required and scheduled by the District to work two (2) eight (8) hour shifts within a twenty-four (24) hour period, the second shift will be paid for at the overtime rate of pay. The overtime rate shall not apply in situations where the employee has volunteered and/or requested to work such a schedule.
Double Shifts. Except in cases of emergency, no employee will be required to work more than double the hours in their normal shift within a twenty-four (24) hour period. For example, an employee working a ten (10) hour shift would not be required to work more than twenty (20) hours. In such cases of emergency, employees shall be paid double time for those hours worked in excess of a double shift.
