DONATION OF PAID LEAVE. Employees may donate paid leave to a fellow employee who is otherwise eligible to accrue and use sick leave. The intent of this leave donation program is to allow employees to voluntarily provide assistance to their co- workers who are in critical need of leave due to a serious illness or injury of the employee or a member of the employee's immediatefamily.

DONATION OF PAID LEAVE. Any non-probationary firefighter is eligible to receive vacation and/or personal time from any other firefighter or to donate vacation and/or personal time to another firefighter. Up to a total of forty-eight (48) hours of vacation and/or personal time may be donated to a firefighter by another firefighter if the firefighter is suffering from a non-work related, severe or life-threatening illness, injury, impairment or physical or mental condition, documented by a medical doctor’s certification, which has caused him to be unable to perform his regular duties and be without pay. The request to donate is submitted to human resources in writing.

DONATION OF PAID LEAVE. During the term of this Agreement the City agrees to offer employees the same opportunity to participate in the City’s Paid Leave Donation Policy, under the same terms and conditions that are offered to non-represented City employees, as the same may be changed from time to time by the City.

  • Return from Leave of Absence (a) Before a Nurse may return to work from a leave granted under Article 9.00, she or he must provide a minimum of four (4) weeks written notice of the specific date of his or her return to work, or such shorter time as mutually agreed.

  • Use of Paid Leave ‌ With the approval of the Appointing Authority, employees will be allowed to utilize accrued sick leave, personal holiday or vacation leave when on authorized leave without pay due to illness or injury.

  • Payment of Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave (a) If an employee takes a period of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave and meets the notice requirements set out at Clause 44.3 the employer must pay the employee at the employee’s base rate of pay for the employee’s ordinary hours of work in the period.

  • Return from Leaves An Employee returning from a leave of absence shall return to his/her former position and location he/she held at the time of the leave unless he/she has been laid off or displaced in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Return from Leave An employee on maternity or parental leave pursuant to Articles 20.1 and 20.2 shall provide the Employer with at least one (1) month’s written notice. On return from leave, an employee shall be placed in her former position or where the position no longer exists in a position of equal rank and basic pay.

  • Child Rearing Leave 7.9.1 A permanent employee, who is the natural or adoptive parent of a child, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the purpose of rearing his/her child for a specified period immediately after convalescence from maternity or immediately after completion of appropriate adoption papers. Such leave shall be for a maximum period of nine (9) months and shall be granted upon giving the District at least four (4) weeks notice prior to the anticipated date on which the leave is to commence.

  • Special Leave of Absence Teachers may be granted leaves of absence without pay for one (1) year under the following criteria:

  • Paid Leave (a) An employee who is a volunteer member of the Defence Force Reserves or the Cadet Force is entitled to paid leave of absence for Defence service, subject to the conditions set out hereunder.

  • Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave An Employee who is expecting the birth or adoption of a child shall be entitled to maternity/paternity/adoption leave without pay, provided she presents a medical certificate confirming the probable date of confinement, or in the case of adoption, gives the Employer notice of eligibility. Except in extenuating circumstances, the notice shall be submitted in writing at least twenty-eight (28) days in advance of the leave and shall specify the probable date of commencement and the anticipated length of leave. The following conditions shall apply:

  • Other Paid Leave 1Leave periods outside the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle as per Annex 1, article 3.2 shall not be paid unless required by this Agreement or for other mandatory reasons (“Other Paid Leave Days”). 2When an employee falls sick or suffers an accident during the Leave Period and such sickness or accident prevents him/her from returing to the Work Site in accordance with the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle, he or she has to notify the Company and the Site Manager immediately (article 9.4 para. 7 – 10 shall also apply).
