Division Seniority. ‌ Division seniority is defined as the seniority status of an employee in a given division within the department.

Division Seniority. Shall establish the date the employee began work in a location (division). Division seniority will define the employee's status for the purpose of shift bidding and vacation requests.

Division seniority will be utilized in promotions and bidding as provided in Article 7 for the bargaining unit positions of Building Custodian/Messenger, General Maintenance Worker, Lab Sample Collector, and any other entry level position in existence or which is created.

  • Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.
