DISTRICT/UNION RELATIONS. This Agreement is intended to promote, and shall be so construed and interpreted as to carry out the following general purposes: promote harmonious relations between the parties and other employee groups; establish and maintain an orderly collective bargaining procedure; work to provide the best possible transit service for the investing general public and patrons of the system; prompt and fair disposition of all grievances and disputes; and adhere to this Agreement. The parties hereby acknowledge that this Agreement represents an amicable understanding reached by the parties utilizing the interest-based negotiations process of cooperatively seeking mutually acceptable solutions to issues and concerns. To further the labor- management relationship, the parties have committed to continuing the use of the interest- based principles in the administration of this agreement. Labor-Management Meetings - Joint labor-management meetings shall be scheduled monthly at a mutually convenient time and place for the purpose of improving communications and promoting harmony and cooperation between District and Union through informal discussions of matters of policy and operation which are of general concern. Should the Union elect, they may include up to five (5) IBEW-represented employees in the meetings, one from each of the departments of Bus Maintenance, Light Rail Maintenance, Wayside, Procurement, and Facilities, with said employees being compensated at straight time for such meeting time.

  • District Responsibilities With respect to all sums deducted by the District pursuant to authorization of the employee, whether for membership dues or equivalent fees, the District agrees promptly to remit such monies to the Association together with an alphabetical list of unit members for who such deductions have been made, categorizing them as to membership or non-membership in the Association, and indicating any changes in personnel from the list previously furnished.

  • Employer Union Relations 7.1 Representation at Meetings with the Employer No employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Employer without the proper authorization of the Union. To implement this, the Union shall supply the Employer with the names of its officers and, similarly, the Employer shall supply the Union with a list of its supervisory or other personnel with whom the Union may be required to transact business.

  • Union Management Relations 4.1 All collective bargaining with respect to hours and general working conditions shall be conducted by authorized representatives of the Union and authorized representatives of the Employer.

  • Community Relations i) Establish and maintain NWSA relationship with community organizations in King County to build support for the NWSA’s mission and activities.

  • District Responsibility The District will pay to the retiree’s foreign medical carrier a monthly amount up to the maximum monthly amount that is paid to a carrier for the working members of the bargaining unit at the time the coverage is initiated.

  • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. If the test result is negative, the Employer will reimburse the employee for the cost of the split sample test. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • UNION COOPERATION The Union, as well as the members thereof, agree at all times as fully as it may be within their power, to further the interests of the Employer.

  • Member and Local Union Responsibilities The Local Union and the Xxxxxxx will work with members to correct and solve problems related to job performance. • Job Stewards shall be provided with xxxxxxx training and receive specialized training with regard to the UA Standard for Excellence. • Regular meetings will be held where the job xxxxxxx along with UA Supervision will communicate with the management team regarding job progress, work schedules, and other issues affecting work processes. • The Job Xxxxxxx shall communicate with the members’ issues affecting work progress. • The Business Manager or his designee will conduct regularly scheduled meetings to discuss and resolve issues affecting compliance of the UA Standard for Excellence policy. • The Xxxxxxx and management will attempt to correct such problems with individual members in the workplace. • Individual members not complying with membership responsibility shall be brought before the Local Union Executive Board who will address such members’ failure to meet their obligation to the local and the UA, up to and including filing charges. The Local Union’s role is to use all available means to correct the compliance problem including but not limited to mandatory retraining for members after offences.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary.
