Dispatch Services provide fire department 9-1-1 emergency dispatch by CAL FIRE Fire/Emergency Command Center (ECC). CAL FIRE will be responsible for fire/emergency dispatching emergency resource units covered under this agreement. The CAL FIRE ECC is staffed with a Battalion Chief, three or more Fire Captains and Communications Operators to provide 24/7 year-round coverage. There is always an officer of Captain rank or higher to serve as the shift supervisor and command officer. CAL FIRE uses an integrated Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system using the latest technology, to direct the closest available resources to all emergency incidents.

Dispatch Services. Agency will perform (or cause to be performed) and provide public safety dispatch services for and on behalf of the Users, including, without limitation, the following (collectively, the “Dispatch Services”): (a) 24-hour per day answering of emergency telephone lines, including, without limitation, 9-1-1 calls for fire, police, and emergency medical service requests; (b) radio communications with responders regarding emergency and routine matters; (c) such other services designated by the IGC necessary to carry out Agency’s purposes under Section 2.2; and (d) those dispatching and other services for public safety purposes as set forth in Exhibit B. Agency will perform the Dispatch Services on a 24-hour per day, seven days a week basis. Agency will provide the Dispatch Services in accordance with SOPs.
