Disciplinary Options. 16.2.1 When problems arise in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, the District will make reasonable attempts to assist the employee in correcting those problems. Should discipline be warranted, such discipline shall be administered progressively, beginning with a measure appropriate to the severity of the infraction.

Disciplinary Options. The Company will endeavor to use the principle of progressive discipline in a manner designed to correct the behavior or performance problem that resulted in a violation of any of the provisions of Section of 21.1 and in a manner commensurate with the wrongdoing.   • Discipline for Just Cause Disciplinary action shall be taken only for just cause, however probationary employees may be discharged without just cause and shall have no right to grieve discharge (see Article 7, Probationary Period). Disciplinary action, except discharge, shall have as its purpose the correction or elimination of incorrect work-related behavior by an employee. Supervisors may not take disciplinary action against an employee who, in good faith, reports a violation of any federal or state law or regulation to a governmental body or law enforcement official. Disciplinary action may not be taken against an employee who is requested by a public agency to participate in an investigation, hearing, or inquiry, as well as an employee who refuses to participate in any activity that the employee, in good faith, believes violates state or federal law.

  • Disciplinary Matters (a) The employer acknowledges the principles of procedural fairness and the right to a support person.

  • Disciplinary suspension (1) This subsection does not apply to suspensions pending charges for removal.

  • Discipline for Cause No member shall be reduced in pay or position, suspended, removed, or reprimanded except for just cause. In the event of a grievance, employees shall appeal disciplinary actions which result in time-off without pay, or removal to Step Three of the grievance procedure within seven (7) calendar days after written notice of such action is served upon the affected member. Probationary removals or reductions are not appealable to the grievance procedure. Employees given written reprimands of record may, upon request, meet with the Chief Deputy and/or the Sheriff (or designee) to discuss the discipline. This meeting can be conducted with or without Union representation. The results of such meetings shall not be subject to appeal through the grievance procedure. If a member disagrees with the verbal or written reprimand, the member may write a memorandum to the Sheriff explaining the reason(s) for the disagreement. The memorandum will be attached to the reprimand.

  • Disciplinary Procedure (a) The disciplinary procedure applies if, following the investigation, the Employer reasonably considers that the Employee’s conduct or performance may warrant disciplinary steps being taken.

  • Disciplinary Measures 19.01 Any disciplinary measure must be the subject of a written notice addressed to the employee concerned and stating the reasons for the measure. Such notice must be sent simultaneously to the Union. Only those disciplinary measures of which the employee and the Union have been informed in writing can be used as evidence in arbitration and can appear in the employee's employment file.

  • Disciplinary Hearing In the event the Union disagrees with the disciplinary action, the Union may appeal the matter to the Town Supervisor. The appeal must be submitted, in writing, within seven calendar days from receiving the Notice of Discipline. Within seven calendar days after receiving the appeal, the Town Supervisor shall meet with the disciplined employee and the designated representative of the Union. Within seven calendar days after said meeting, the Town Supervisor shall issue a written response, which shall be given to the designated representative of the Union.

  • Disciplinary Meetings In the event a meeting is held for disciplinary purposes, the affected employee shall have the right to have a Union xxxxxxx and/or Union representative present.
